Again @saltymonkey, thank you. I saw your post, clicked the link, read the description, and immediately hit buy now. I was surprised it was still available.

Sorry Dave @Stealth57, I did not see your question until after the fact. I was so excited I just had to get it. That is not the original Artec pickup. Who knows what it is. It could be anything, from a Chinabucker, a 760 Probucker, or something special. The seller probably doesn’t know. I can’t wait to find out!

That one is from the second run or later. The first run didn’t have a belly cut. It’s a bit on the heavier side. Mine, also Ebony, is about 8 1/2 pounds.

I wonder if it has one of Scott’s @godofthunder59 ’s pickguards? I have one of Scott’s PGs on mine with his hot-stamped Thunderbird logo.

It’s from AZ. I wonder if Andy @Nocturnal knows it?

My immediate thought, before I realized it wasn’t an Artec, was that it’ll get a Lollar. But after looking at the pics, I realize it has something else. In my dreams it’ll be a Lull, or a Thunderbucker Ranch.

I haven’t been this excited since George @GBassNorth sold me his BaCH II a couple years ago.

It’s nice to be back in the game after having some financial issues for about a year. I have three specific wants moving forward. There were some opportunities the last year that I couldn’t swing. I will be checking on those. Then I’m probably done. But never say never.

Great score on that BaCH, Marshall!
I'm really curious as to the pickup in it.

Not long now before “let’s do this!”

Don't insult me, Donnie. :)
At least I didn't ask if you chased it down with a PBR! That would have definitely crossed a line.

It looks great. I would love to have some NY style pizza. To my knowledge there's nothing around here that makes an attempt at it. I did enjoy some Chicago style(?) while there once. Completely different. One slice was a meal. May have been Giordano's or something like that, but it's been 25 yrs.

Special call-out to Marshall (Jeff Tweedy) - but also a call-out to what the bass player is playing! (late '60s Coral Deluxe Bass!) Woo-hoo! :bassist:

Cool!

I liked her recent albums. Good stuff. Then again, I can't think of anything she's done that I don't like. Mavis is a national treasure.

Went to a Giordano's in Orlando a coupla times. Took one look at a "Chicago Style". :rollno: Waaay too much 'bread' with the toppings.
I notice that 2 or 3 chains are making "NY Style" pizza.
Maybe.
Prolly not.

Yes, that. I've thought about getting one, mostly for concert band, but they ain't cheap. And I am. :smug:
Michael Manring has mastered that thing. Some mind blowing video on YouTube of him playing with it. Doesn't hurt that he's already a phenomenal talent anyway, and then adding in the textures he gets with the e-bow...he's on a different level.

I’m falling out of love with my Thunderbird.

I built a PJ bass with an EMG Geezer butler pickup set. With the same strings on my Thunderbird and PJ, I prefer the PH by a mile. In comparison my bird sounds lifeless.

Please save me from selling my Tbird!
Get a Dingwall D Roc. 😁
