Oh my!

At one time - asking prices have been going up. It used to be you could buy an Epi Goth for cheap but I just checked eBay and they are all over $500. Cheapest one was this one w/HSC - EPIPHONE THUNDERBIRD BASS GUITAR with Original Epiphone Hardshell CASE -See Pics | eBay

While scanning I saw this - never heard of this model. Looks to be piezo -

I was seriously considering one of those years ago. IIRC, they are a bit heavy.

It seems I’ve landed in the/a theatre district of Paris.
Just a block or two behind my hotel

I thought this was an ad for a play, a movie or a band. “Stop Aux Rats!”

Yesterday came back via the beautiful Parc Luxembourg…
IMG_4455.jpeg
Found a little orchestra playing as well as a large number of people wandering around in 18th or 19th Century garb.
The orchestra was fun, they played an elephant walk kinda thing and the two tuba players at the back were stomping along (on the spot) while they were playing. Good fun.

But remember, Geoff loves Paris

It was mid eighties this weekend at the mountain. But I was inside dealing with the aftermath of a bear break in. The problem here is out of control. For some reason, he went into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. What a freaking mess. I’m trying to take it all in stride.
Blame a wild party with a bunch of attorneys on a bear for the Mrs. Good thinking.

Obviously a serious matter you now have to contend with. I really sorry to hear that and see the damage. I'm just thrilled no one was there when it happened. I hope getting it put back together goes well. Wish you were close enough to lend a hand.

Yes so far. I wasn’t so pleased when getting from the main train station to my hotel. But I’m a lot more pro Paris since. So very different to Sydney.

London was very different too, but a comfortable, kinda familiar, different. I think London - Sydney folk could move into the other without much difficulty.
Paris? Not so much.

Definitely orange here in Seattle today when the sun managed to break through at all, the smoke and grass pollen are making life a bit difficult.
I was wondering if I had COVID again, but it's just smoke and pollen. It's a potent combination of things that conspire to make breathing a challenge. Same with sleep, which gets pretty tough when you can't breathe. Meh. Who needs breathing and sleeping anyway.

That’s the thing. He would not have gotten in had we been here. Over the last few years, they have become smart enough to know when someone isn’t present. We do all the stuff we’re told to do. We don’t have any attractants. A house with no one home means there is an unguarded fridge/freezer. Even if there isn’t much in it, like ours. The problem is that there are idiots who feed them. Some are residents. Some are weekend Air B&Bers. There was a CDFW policy change in ‘22 that essentially maintains a hands off approach now. Prior to that, problem bears and the idiots were dealt with. That is no longer the case. Big Bear is facing the same problem. And it isn’t just mountain communities. Suburban communities like Sierra Madre and Pasadena are also having issues.
Bears in Pasadena? That's pretty astonishing.

I have had several of them. I don't have one now, but every time one pops up, I think about buying another one. They are different from a Gibson or higher end Epiphone, but they are their own thing and excellent in their own way once you move the strap button to where it belongs. I probably won't buy one for the same reason I probably won't buy anything else. The herd is at a point that it doesn't all get exercise on a regular enough basis, so why waste a perfectly good bass guitar by putting it in a closet.

I hope they at least had some fans blowing the air around. That's warmer than my climate wimp core can tolerate for very long. Couldn't tell that you were on your way to being overcooked by listening to the video.

The model on eBay or Goths? My Gojira is a Goth body that I heavily 'chambered' to make it lighter. It is solid mahogany w/the thin central raised sections added. It's now 9lbs flat so still not super light. It does rock though... :bassist:
