Let me know if you plan something. I’m in is scheduling permits. We can visit Andy. Sure missed him at the last GTG.I think it's in the historical artifact category... maybe a museum will step up. There's the “MIM” (Musical Instrument Museum) in the PHX area that I'm told is pretty extensive. I want to visit it, maybe over the winter.
If I had the coin, I’d be interested in the Record Plant board that Roumors was mixed on.Some of those name analog boards you just can’t beat.
Good to see that they are in use.
The digital world is ok, does a good job of it.
But can’t match the real thing.
I get it. But it belongs in a museum. At a fair price.yeah but “something” or “hey jude” didn’t go through the mac……what was recorded with instruments/gear becomes a new factor in their collectibility….
Maybe someday. But I’m just not a flats kinda guy. It could be because I’m half deaf.Compared to the EBCF’s, less brashy in the upper mids and highs.
And as to the SIT’s
More balanced tonally.
To my ears anyway.
The tension and feel are perfect, for me.
And the overall balance from lows to highs is very even.
No more Dunlops, they were just to much in the low mids, over powered everything else. And too much tension.
As Neil says, it’s all one song.In the flip side of this, for myself anyway, having never been in a cover band and only occasionally teaching myself cover songs over the years, I’m actually impressed with the players that can pickup a set of songs and with what seems like not an extraordinary amount of practice, get up and play for 1-3 hours.
When I teach myself any given cover song, I always find myself seeing how someone else will write for a part, and often it is nothing I would have ever thought of doing myself.
Exactly - I went to 'school' learning classic songs of all styles. I am still learning and for original material I have developed my own way/order to construct bass-lines based on what I've learned.
My current favorite LP of killer Colin Moulding bass-lines is this - great songwriting also.

I’m really going to push that we play Beerhunter at the next GTG. It will be hilarious.
Been there. Done that. Want to do it again. You’re a most benevolent host. Especially when you crack open a couple bottles of wine. And let me play in the bass room.Or if ya’ll want some even warmer weather our Queen and her mate are welcome to pick up Dave, Geo and Chuck on the way and sit a spell at my localaty, to have a heapin helpin of our hospitality. Let me know when you’re heading down. I’ll crash the party.RSVP!
Buddy, you’re only 5 hours and a phone call away. Dont be a stranger, I’ve got bass gear down here you’d love to get your hands on. Marshall has been here and done that as well as Geo and his friend. All club members are welcome anytime, it’s an open door policy and there’s plenty of beds for over nighters.RSVP!

On a related note, I’ve solidified my Monterey plans. I’ll be arriving at my hotel in Monterey on Friday the 15th around 4:00 and my schedule is wide open for any gigs you may have in the Monterey/Carmel/Santa Cruz/Hollister/Gilroy areas. If ya have something going on let me know, would be great if Dave, Geo and Ringmaster could join in as well for a mini GTG. I can bring a couple of basses and maybe an amp and cab (or even a B-18N) if you’re open to a garage gathering at your place on the weekend. I’ll be in the area until the following Thursday.
If something develops, let me know. I could be open to coming up Saturday if my upcoming trial goes away.Buddy, you’re only 5 hours and a phone call away. You’re a braver man than I am. I don’t envision a cruise in the foreseeable future. Yeah. I’m paranoid.I’m on a boat in the Pacific from 11/9-11/16![]()
