Yeah, if I'm going to hurt, I'd just as soon feel kind of good hurting.
I’m generally not good with narcos. And am not a fan. They make me nauseous. I used very few following the ankle surgery in 2023. FWIW, I seem to have always had a high tolerance for pain, starting as a swimmer and runner in my “prior” life. But headaches totally suck. I’m glad V went through with the sinus surgery. The “Roto-Rooter” procedure has been around for decades and is truly a miracle. It has helped countless millions of people.

Definite downsides for sure. A friend years ago had sinus problems so bad they ended up (you won't believe this), cutting all around the upper part of his face and pealing his face back to resolve his problems. It's been 30 yrs since he told me and I don't recall any more than that. I'm not sure what they did or could do, but there is zero chance this guy would have made that up.

My mom was in the medical journals in the 50s for a “revolutionary” sinus procedure. Something about moving the eye to get to the sinus.

I had narcotics once when I had shingles as an 18 year old. Bad move giving a bottle of pills to a dumb kid, but it didn't kill me. I won't be doing that again. As I recall, it was mostly Tylenol with a bit of codeine, so not even that strong. Nothing really happened, but I didn't feel great the next morning. I didn't even get high from that stuff.

I went through the Caldwell-Luc procedure and also had them do a septoplasty to realign the damage done by three broken noses I got playing basketball. My nose is still a crooked mess. I still have severe hey fever during the Spring and fall. But I’ve avoided severe infections ever since the surgery.
