I have a bumper sticker someone gave me years ago they saiy sounded like something I would say. I keep it on my desk and when somebody says something or does something weird I pull it up. Most have seen it and start laughing. It says "Did you have a bowl of stupid for breakfast?"

Pardon me for skimming much of the Greco pick up discussing, but it's been a little busy lately. Anyway, briefly were their pick ups made in Korea by any chance? I'm considering a old Gibson NR and the pickups are thought to have Korea on the stickers underneath. It's been a while since he saw them (in storage). He hasn't seen them for a good while and who knows could have actually said Japan, not Korea, I suppose. But I thought it odd that Thunderbird pickups would be made in Korea as those were not common pickups and wondered about a possibly Greco connection. Or if anyone knew of Thunderbird pickups ever being made in Korea for some reason.

Yeah, cool band. A bunch of years ago I was riding my bike through Prospect Park in Brooklyn, and Spoon was playing at the bandshell there. I stopped and listened for the rest of their set. They did a great cover of Rocks Off from the Stones.
I was thinking it would be really cool to visit Bruce Johnson's shop. I don't where that is - other than being in California.
Speaking of fakes and Amazon, a friend of mine put Ernie Ball guitar strings purchased from Amazon on his Tele. He couldn't get rid of a buzz on the B string. He took it to Mike Kinal, who did some setup work on it, but the buzz wouldn't go away completely. It turned out to be a mis-shapen string. They think it was a counterfeit set of strings.

Original Greco pickups are of Japanese origin, no markings on them is typical, to my knowledge all years of production are from Japan, they are thicker than other Thunderbird repro pickups.

Thank you! Any knowledge of "Thunderbird" style pickups ever being made in Korea? That just seems odd, meaning no known reason for any to be made there. I don’t remember what she was wearing the night we went. It was packed. IIRC, the Ramones were on first. Sort of a co-headlining bill. We were pretty far back. And drunk.
There were a few years in the late seventies/early eighties where everybody played the Civic. We saw Blondie there a couple times, the Clash three times, the Pretenders at least once there, and others.

Nope on the Korea production of pickups with metal cases, plastic ones for Epis yes, but they're easy to distinguish.

I thought I read Epi Probucker 760s are made in Korea.
Now that you mention it, that does seem to be something I read or saw someplace. Likely here 243,788 pages ago! Assuming I'm remembering that correctly.
