I don't know, but I'm sure somebody does. It would be straight forward enough to experiment with series/parallel wiring to see what works best for your ears.

We were talking about them on Last Bass Outpost when the Vintage Pro first came out, they're from China.

My Orville's looked like TB Plus in metal cases, underwhelming at best, I think there's a great deal of production inconsistency in TB Plus, in all the Gibson basses I've owned only one set has been worth leaving stock in the bass.

He’s a great guy! His shop is in Fillmore (about 20 min from my house) and he rents shop space to fellow TB’er Jeremy who also does fine work. Very unique guy, more along the lines of a mad scientist than a typical builder, his mind is constantly running 100mph in the innovation lane, not just on finished product but also on the tooling to do any given job.

Additionally, Rob Turner (fantastic fretless A/E basses) is in the same building just a few doors down. About 15 minutes from my house in the opposite direction is John Carruthers shop, very impressive size and equipment and he has one of the most colorful rock guitar related backgrounds you’ll ever find. Then about 30 minutes south of my house is the amazing Pat Wilkins and his fabrication and finishing shop, another master in his field. I think there’s a pedal or pickup company 45 minutes north of me in the Santa Barbara area, and potential day trips (3 hrs north) to MusicMan in San Louis Obispo or (2 hrs south) to Corona for Fender tours.

One of the reasons I don't buy from random Amazon sellers.

They would sound powerful and bassy. At least that's my experience with any pickups wired in series.

I've been holding out, hoping to score a good deal on a used / open box / etc. purple Epi 64, but they're obviously few and far between. I'm thinking I may ned to just buy new soon to avoid potential tariffs. I know I've seen people thrilled and not thrilled with the 64 variant vs the VP. Would those of you who've played both weigh in briefly with your thoughts? Thanks!

I went ahead and ordered one of the purple sparkle ‘64’s. Awesome bass

Briefly, they didn't sound good. Scott's assessment of them ("like punching dead meat") is generally spot on for most of the ones I had, but a good set is something special.
