Thunderbird Club

thinking of getting one?
Been trying for sometime. The first one I found admitted the electronics were replaced and wouldn’t commit on the pickup, second one got pulled off the market when I asked if all original, the one now is overpriced and doesn’t seem interested in negotiating. No rush.

Greco-bird folks, I see TB-90 and TB-900 listed for what appears to be the same model. Are they the same or is one upgraded?

As far as I understand, they got different designations over time but the models were essentially the same. A 90 should be an older version.
The Greco model numbers can be a bit confusing, as they changed over time, and correspond to the price of the instrument. In 77/78, it should be a TB-900 for the II and TB-1100 for the IV. Later on they were referred to as the TB90. Same model, just changed how they referred to the model name.

So, SN A787870, which is January 1978 should be a TB-900? The listing says TB-90 but that may just be because that’s all the broker knows.

This morning. The fretboard looks way better in this pic than in person.

It's ready to go for in the morning. We talked about getting it refinished and are leaning towards having it done to get anything else sorted out and it look like it should. Pricing may determine that. The wife is thinking that way--and I don't like to argue or disappoint the wife. ;)
I think it looks pretty cool as is.

Legend is pushing it. :D

A Rugby League prop forward. His last few years seemed to be a case of playing while ever someone would pay him. Which is reasonable, but he was a long way past his best.
At his peak he played for NSW and Australia. His club teams were Tigers, Sharks, and short stints with Dragons and SeaEagles.

Decent (better than) bloke, well regarded and speaks well especially for an ex Prop. :D He has picked up a radio gig on a footy show.

He (no 8) had a funny moment in a try celebration for NSW vs Qld.

A prop wearing 8? That is an alien thought to a Union Rules person. I was usually 6 or 7, which probably an Aussie what kind of person they are dealing with.
