Ummm…so…let’s just say I happened to buy that VP 2022 model for $550. How do I get my Thunderbird Club number and is there a secret handshake?
I would like to note that after passing out coconut bras and grass skirts to everyone involved in the trial, I was completely exonerated, though it was suggested that if did not wish to shave my legs, in the future I should wear stockings or panty hose. I've chose LaBella Black Nylons for the upcoming GTG.Please do be welcome here with us Bighouse,
We used have folks dance around a bonfire and run through the streets of their town while yelling "Thunderbirds Rule" in a Coconut Bra and Grass skirt for initiation, but Miles O'Neil was arrested and charged with indecent exposure ( he didn't shave his legs!) so we've kind backed down from that, now we just like pictures of your new Thunderbird. As ever, we encourage questions here, not the search function, and join the conversation, we try to stick to the bass we love, but invariably we drift around, and that's okay. I've added you to the club list, you're #948, Welcome. BTW I love that kitty in your avatar.
...
Some strange, misplaced foam mute?So what is that thing just above the bridge pickup? (No, I am not looking to buy this; I have two Grecos, both in better shape. If I hadn't gotten the Thunderbuckers, I might have bought it for the pickups...)
I know you miss yours. I’ll trade you straight up for your’64.totally agree, that's all mine ever saw....
Purple silks would go well.Yo Bettie!

I learned it back in the day. Haven’t really thought much about it in decades. I’m going to be giving it a go. I think it’s a straight forward groove in G minor if I’m not mistaken.Git it, cowboy! Yeehah! Always loved this song.
Cash burning a hole in your pocket? You’re welcome.Oh dear. I just put an offer in on a second 1977 Greco Thunderbird II that was accepted. Twin is on the way.
You obviously know Willy.I'm getting pretty good at finessing frets out...

And discovered another " metric conversion error". The original dots aren't 6mm, or 6.35mm (1/4")... they and the holes are about 5.88mm.
New 6mm dots wont fit.
Since I have to redrill, and good 6mm Forstner bits seem to be pretty hard to get, I'm upping it to 1/4" MOP dots.
Mainly waiting on some glue dam to arrive so I can secure the slot edges better, for the chips I did get.
#Forward!
Willy disappears. BuddhaFingas shows up. Hmmm...You obviously know Willy.
We’ll know if he lets it slip that he likes Rambler wagons.Willy disappears. BuddhaFingas shows up. Hmmm...
and has a C4 Corvette…We’ll know if he lets it slip that he likes Rambler wagons.
Yes, don't think that will change for me either. Rotos was what I used on the '64 decades ago. Went to Infelds SuperAlloys maybe 20 yrs ago (wonderful tone!), and now it has SIT David Ellfeson (Powerwounds as far as anyone can tell). I prefer the Infelds but the SITs likely get me 90-95% there, at a fraction of the cost.totally agree, that's all mine ever saw....
Or adds feet to the photos. We’ll know if he lets it slip that he likes Rambler wagons.
Could be done, but it would require some refinishing since the bridge doesn't cover much and it would show. I never looked into getting the anchors out but sure Irv and others would know how to do it. I played it tonight and tested a few strings and I'm not sure it's going to be a problem. Not until I get the next call for studio work or a project someone wants be to do for a while. But no problem I have other basses for when that happens.Or reposition the bridge to the correct spot?
If you sell me the Thunderbuckers you can buy that bass for the pickups. Just a thought. So what is that thing just above the bridge pickup? (No, I am not looking to buy this; I have two Grecos, both in better shape. If I hadn't gotten the Thunderbuckers, I might have bought it for the pickups...)

That's the way to do it! Well done, indeed!Oh dear. I just put an offer in on a second 1977 Greco Thunderbird II that was accepted. Twin is on the way.
