No one knows for sure, but history indicates that flats were what was available in the mid-60s.Wasn't there talk of the actual Gibby 1964's coming with flats from the factory?
Yes. The bass manufacturing world was still thinking in terms of what upright basses were like. John Entwhistle was instrumental (sic) in getting rounds developed and popularized for electric basses.Wasn't there talk of the actual Gibby 1964's coming with flats from the factory?
What happened to grass skirt and coconut bra ?The Queen issues numbers. No secret handshake, but you have to post pictures of you playing the bass wearing a skirt. Preferably, while drunk.
We haven’t broken that news to him yet Geoff. We were waiting for V to tell him. What happened to grass skirt and coconut bra ?

It's wearing a fresh set of DR Lo Riders right now.
I'm as excited as you are for it to be delivered.
They are pretty good better than the TB plus pickup of old. Probably #3 or #4 on my list. I still far prefer the early Epiphone 760 Probuckers. I couldn't resist the Heritage Cherry finish plus it's super light and a tad neck heavy just like a Nonreverse Thunderbird should beCongratulations on that beauty. Are you becoming more of a reissue Gibson PUP fan?

Those ought to do nicely. Thank you for doing that so I don’t have to go messing around with it. It’ll nice to just concentrate on playing it.It's wearing a fresh set of DR Lo Riders right now.

although primarily a rounds guy, flats sound superb on TBirds...Anyone use LaBella Flats on their TBirds? How about TI Jazz flats?
Dang, since this is the first bass I’ve ever bought used and it came with no literature/case/info- I have no idea what the string gauges are on it. Can someone help me out?
totally agree, that's all mine ever saw....Currently my '76 has Rotos 66s. Great match.
My 70's (can't remember if it was a bicen or not) came with flats with purple silks when I bought it (brand spanking new) in 81(?) at Modern Music in Ft Liquordale.....paid 800 for it, first thing I did was yank the covers and slap some RS 66 on there....played it through a GK 400B going through a custom 2x15" (EVs) enclosure and a Sunn 4x12" guitar cab.....thought I had died and gone to even....took that setup (minus the Sunn cab) on a Euro 6 year contract.....Yes. Or reposition the bridge to the correct spot?Well I got a line on some 760s from a TB member (not a regular here). A little cheaper than the Gibson reissues, but I know I will be getting what I prefer. Might have to take him up on it if the Donor bass stays a player bass. Wouldn't have to buy a bass and sell a bass or parts that way.
I got the claw fixed on the Embassy after letting it set for 20 hrs or so. Strung it and it's nice and stable. But...I notice this seems to be one of those where the bridge should have been closer to the neck by a 1/2 in. The D&G are slightly not intonated properly once you go up the neck a bit. I didn't notice it being off Wed, and it was not set up at all and I just eyeballed it and it was pretty close. I'm going to use it Sunday and see how it does and see if I notice it sounding off. I'm hoping I can't tell as it plays as sounds so nice. But if it does, I will have the pickups I want.
And for the club number to go into the sig. That's when you have them.We haven’t broken that news to him yet Geoff. We were waiting for V to tell him.
