Just curious- anyone ever put a tort pickguard on a sunburst 'bird? To me, the white guard on my Classic is a little plain. Pics would be awesome.

I looked at a lot of pick guards for my tBird. At first, I tried black pearl, but didn't like it. I then went with white pearl as you see in my avatar. Personally, I wouldn't consider tort' because I have two Fender basses that have tort gards. I agree that plain white is ,well..... plain.

They make the hollowbody one in two colours:

Vintage Walnut (reviewed elsewhere here in TB and on YT)

Alpine White (seen it personally at the Thomann shop, but didn't try it out, as I was looking at other stuff and wife wanted to go).

What's the "usual" string spacing at the bridge of thunderbirds 4?

I've been thinking about getting one for a while (originally an epi classic, right now thinking about the harley benton "copy") but I like tight string spacing (<15mm) and I'm not sure that's something I'll be able to get on a Thunderbird

The 3 point bridge saddles are pretty tight, but without measuring, I'd say they're close to 18mm? I'm used to 19mm so I'm not sure how you'd feel about it. I would describe my Bird as very easy to play.... effortless really.

Thanks, I'm just used to 5er with tight string spacing, I don't know if I could adapt to a "regular" 4 string spacing... but I'll have to if I get one of those TBird

Question- Someone here was saying that they'd heard that the Classic White Epi Pro was being discontinued.
Anybody else hear this?
