Hey, I wanted to knew some opinions about the Greco T bird, it is reliable? It looks very cool to me personally... but if someone here has played one before it would be very nice to know about it, plus it could stand along a Gibson? not trying to create a debate on here, but I would like to know about the specs of the Greco '' vs '' the Gibson.

I have one from the 80's with the nickel/chrome parts. The fretboard is a little thicker at the nut than a modern Gibson, but the radius to the back of the neck is "flatter" and very comfortable to play. Very Hot growly pickups. Can overdrive my amp input. Set Neck. Excellent quality. Called the "super real" models and look a lot like a '64 with the bridge tail piece. Moderate neck dive on mine (headstock is a deadly weapon) , I relocated the strap button to the back of the neck, so now it stays neck up. Highly regarded in this forum! They are RARE and they ROCK.

That sounds like a good show. A few years ago we had a guitarist who wore a full up pink pig suit. Man he looked ridiculous yet still scarier than all the zombies put together. He cut holes in the pigs feet so he could play.

We just bought our daughter her college double bass, the cost far outstrips even my most expensive bass. I need to raise some cash. The V8 is a easy sell it doesn't fit my collecting criteria, vintage or USA.

Your stage experience really shows, but I have to say that I think the rest of your band is quite good - they look and play great, with much more focus than most young musicians - Completely awesome!

Thanks, tbird always sounds better through a huge rig rather than my small little practice amp . And Unfortunately yes. We've been on hiatus since this summer. Some minor conflict within the band, not enough practicing time either. Also personal issues within our lives that prevented us from actually practicing and playing gigs. But we've kept contact and we're planning on getting together this upcoming summer. Playing acousticly outside. It's going to be sweet.

So quoting myself in saying that my band is back together!! New lineup and a possible show in november. We're scoping out a place where we can play our halloween setlist. loll. We sound better, and are able to play heavier than before which is pretty cool.

It'll be a fun time, they have a fantastic stage/lights/PA with a really good crew and a super easy load in. We make $1500.00 a night plus rooms and food.

Hey everyone. In my search for pickups for my new thunderbird I may be in a position to buy some nickel Greco pickups. Would anyone go those over say thunderbucker 66'? And would I need to do any routing for the Greco pups?

Either way I will probably get both and put one of the sets in my jazz bass mwuahaha

I do enjoy a mean sounding bird

I only don't want to lose any low end for a more aggressive tone. I just viewed this video and they seem to sound pretty darn fat, no doubt the maple set neck brightens and tightens the sound a lot more. With that in mind those pick ups on a neck through mahogony/walnut bird might sound pretty big.
