Muting???!!!

Oh, yeah. It keeps the body wood from vibrating quite so much. Tape near the controls rolls off some of the high frequencies, too, so its great for that real tight chugging metal bass line. I find that the military issue reinforcing tape (hundred mile an hour tape) tightens the sound the most as the extra adhesive properties of it hold the wood grain closer together. The downside is that it's much harder to remove. The printed Duck Tape brand tape, especially in the animal prints, tends to brighten the tone quite a bit, which is why it was so popular with the glam metal bass players of the late '80's. Bobby Dall had an endorsement with them for a long time, which was great for those years when Poison wasn't making much money.

Nope, running separate. Running each one into and 810 cab. Mesa Titan - Ampeg AV cab, 71 SVT Blueline - Ampeg Heritage cab. Numerous stomp toys in front. Complete overkill for my area of the house but sounds killer and is fun to turn up a bit. Not gigging as of now so I am playing at home and driving the family crazy.

Haven't you ever been curious to take the control cover off and see .

Speaking of my bird, after my grabber build is done & out, i'm going to refinish the body better than it is now. Sanding it all smooth, filling up the cracks and holes left on the body, re-painting it as it stands now (black with red binding) although i'm going to dig deeper for the mohagony wood and paint that with red acrylic paint. Semi-gloss clear coat, Wire everything up again, and hopefully in the mix of all that, i'll be able to swap the tuners as well. Sick of the stock tuners, besides, the posts are pretty loose and i can't do much about it. Besides, it's time to make it mine.

Strange... They must have had a surplus of sunburst ones made when they did your goth... On the other hand, that would explain why the layer of paint on the Goth is so thick.

I bet that the sunburst finish was flawed and instead of trying to "fix" the finish they send those over to the "Goth" department.

Actually yes, but I sold it so I can't look at it right now. It is going to be returning to me very soon tho so I will check once I get it back. Deals are in motion for it to come home so that Joe can buy something else that he wants. I will be glad to get it back

The guitarists in my band have both "upgraded" to full stacks. I'm now up against 16 x 12's. Might have to grab an additional 8x10. My wife is going to punch me.
