I replied in the other thread already with general info, but for the true Tbird enthusiasts here’s the more detailed run down on the 28 Tbirds I own (listed in order of playing preference for each category)…Poll time!
This is in reference to Gibson Thunderbirds and similar basses. This does not include Grestch Thunderbirds, which are different beasts entirely.

The vintage Dimarzio's loaded in my Hamer Blitz and St. Blues PJ bass KILL!! Love those pickups!!Also true!
But seems most fenders I got in the 80s, which were from the 70s I yanked the pickups out and put DiMarzio's in them. After the first DiMarzio Fender pickups seems bland. But in fairness, bold was what DiMarzio was shooting for. But replacing Fender pickups seemed to really take off in the 80s as options came out. Needed or not was a def a preference.
Two VPs is all I need. Are you back from buying it yet?
From the venue’s website:
What? What? What? Two VPs is all I need.
Hah. 9pm is early. Thanks! From the venue's website:
"Come out early for The James Rocket, New York's best kept guitar-pop secret: tightly crafted original rock, sweet melodies hiding bitter pills, putting the pow in your power pop. Don't be late, we're not waiting."
Have a great show Ken!
Sounds like an eclectic venue. A roots band follows you from 10:00 to midnight. Then a DJ to 3:45. I’m tired just thinking about it.Hah. 9pm is early. Thanks!
Go Ken!
