Thunderbird Club

That is quite a uniform!

The Corvette works!
And uniform is seems to be. If me, one week if I showed up and we all looked alike the next time I'd do something different. I think I would have to say, "Look, do you cats notice it looks like you shop at the same isle in the same store or are dressed by the same mother?"

Lived in Tracy for 8 years!

I did not want to be TOO specific (and a little obtuse intentionally) in the public profile (I’m in the mountains 9mi Due West of Patterson)
About 15 miles south of 580/5 interchange
if you pull up a map: it’s not hard to zero in on our little 300 property community.
So I'm guessing you posting your SS number is out of the question. :roflmao:

(We tend to have a weird sense of humor around here.)

Sure: why not it’s just between us right?

And my address is :

Hope that helps!

To add to the mapping of the California gear trading network: I’m in Stanislaus county: (outside Patterson specifically)
And have a large vehicle:)
Additionally: I have Family in SoCal . ( Costa Mesa transplant to here)

Chino OC, and Palm Springs and can usually find an excuse for a visit.

I won’t DONATE my time, but I promise to be cheaper than shipping in many cases it will just take a bit of trust and patience.

No issue with trust here. I’ve read and liked many of your posts for years.

Born in San Diego and spent my formative years at Vandenberg AFB (my elderly parents are still there). UCI class of ‘80 and lived in Irvine ‘til ‘83. I bought the bulk of my vinyl collection at Music Market at Harbor and Adams in CM and ate the best Chinese at the place by there all the time. A bonus was chasing girls at OCC. Lived in Sac until ‘86. Then to Bako for work in ‘86 which is still “home base.” We also have a mountain place in the Las Padres National Forest at the four corners of Kern, SLO, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties. And a rental in Whittier that my wife oversees. My work territory is pretty much the whole valley. For a time, I had to maintain an office in Sac from ‘15 to ‘18, so I had a studio up there as well. We came damn close to buying a retirement place in Strawberry a few years ago, but needed to remain south for family reasons. I know Patterson/Modesto/Stockton well.

Our buddy @Chucky Stiletti is in Hollister and we have the occasional GTG there where we play basses (not only Thunderbirds) and just relax for a few days. You’re close; we’ll let you know the next time something is planned.

The bicentennial is now marked sold. Interesting that a high percentage of the time I start asking simple questions the item ends up marked sold...
Too good to be true then. At that price….

Adding one to your flock should be a consideration. Superb construction, different pickups with the series wired sidewinders, but definitely Tbird tone with proper amp settings and strings. I wasn’t surprised after having played Eric’s at the ‘23 GTG where I made getting one a priority. I’m keeping the three point on mine for sure. The action is incredibly low. It plays itself. The neck on mine is “to die for.”

You have a vintage Reverse and a “rare” ‘15. Get one of those, a 2001 ish Reverse, and a recent NR, you’ll be pretty much set.

Thanks for the detail!
And the kind words about my postings.
I try to be engaging and entertaining.
As to the invite to the GTG I am anticipating it: it’ll be fun.

I was in Glendora through high school.
Victorville for a stint.
Played Hollywood / OC / San Bernardino / Santa Barbara / Bay Area through the 90s
Lived in OC from early 80’s through 2008.

Worked at G&L in the 80s
Took a hiatus from music 92-2008.

Relocated to NoCal in 08. San Jose, Fremont, Tracy: bought the house here in 18.
Did a country band with my Ex from 14-20.

Good one!

You’re already getting it. No question. Don’t be scared. But you’re definitely one of us. We talk Thunderbirds, motorcycles, cars, amps, bands, share gig stories (for those still lucky enough to play out), builds, beer, food, favorite drinks, and most everything else (except Ginger and Mary Ann; we’ve been warned, and politics).

If you know music theory it’s simple. And you only ever need one chart per song, regardless of key. If the key changes - especially to an odd one you aren’t used to - you just choose the new root (1) and go from there. Extra nice with last minute changes.

If it doesn’t work for you, that’s fine. I love it.
Someone I talked to about this said of using it with key changes, “it’s great because you just capo!” Which I found amusing because that’s a standard reaction to key changes with chord charts or just learning it in a certain key.
