Congratulations Roger. Read the manual. Every night for a couple of weeks. Play with the knobs on both channels. I think you are familiar with the Boogie Channel concept? Rinse and repeat until you can do it in your sleep. I love my TT. It is my baby. I’ve spent hours learning it. My only thing is that since I’m not playing out, I don’t have a feel for the symmetry knob. Plenty of power. Play with running it at 2 Ohms, even if your cab setup doesn’t require it. Get the foot switch to switch between the channels.I like loud and clean.
I've scored a Mesa TT-800 head, using it presently with a Schroeder 1210, a 20+ year old model. I will be looking for something taller, less low-mids-heavy though.
The Mesa TT head is going to be just fine I think- two channels and very flexible for sounds, there are a lot of tools in there, it'll take some time to get that wired. My goal is to stop being interested in gear and to be happy with the sounds I have at my disposal. I feel like I'm on that path and progressing... And yes, I definitely believe in speakers being the most important part of a signal chain.
I did a gig with a Barney suit once. Not playing, but as a mascot for the opening of a store. It was hilarious and awful at the same time.
