Thunderbird Club

I have a VP that I would like to hadd a Hipshot Xtender to. While I'm at it I may swap out the other three machine heads as well. The Wilkinson machine aren't bad but they aren't great either but I do likebthe tapered posts. Has anyone here done this swap and if so which Hipshots would be the closest fit? I'm not looking to go light weight as I'm not really experiencing any neck dive as is and I hate looking at empty holes in the headstock. Thanks!
Yep. BT 1 is what you are looking for the Hipshot extender.
When I fully retire from live giging I’ll have about 35 of those to get rid of.
I use them on every “working “ bass I have.

Last I checked, there are airports in Kentucky. There’s an airport in San Jose. What’s the issue?
Plane? A flying Greyhound? That may be giving Greyhound a bad name these days. Not fond of being stuck in a small tube for long periods of time either--or possibly stuck on a runway for hours and can't get off.

Actually the biggest issue is my 89 yr old mother with multiple health concerns that stays with us. Can't be gone long given her health, tenancy to have "bad days" and the additional fall concerns and all her Drs appts. No siblings and no family that could stay for a few days. If I get a chance to go that far I'm staying a while.

Gang of Four with Gail Greenwood on bass with her Thunderbird. And Roger Miller from Mission of Burma on guitar.

I like her. I did not realize she joined Gang for their last go round.

Seeing that from Somerville takes me back to staying in a boarding house there for a couple months December ‘79/January’80. Good times!

You should host a GTG. I'm sure your Mom would love the bass playing.
