I have a VP that I would like to hadd a Hipshot Xtender to. While I'm at it I may swap out the other three machine heads as well. The Wilkinson machine aren't bad but they aren't great either but I do likebthe tapered posts. Has anyone here done this swap and if so which Hipshots would be the closest fit? I'm not looking to go light weight as I'm not really experiencing any neck dive as is and I hate looking at empty holes in the headstock. Thanks!

I put Hipshot’s on my 2017 VP, 3 plus the extender. The ones I got were not a direct fit, I recall 2 of the 4 holes did not line up exactly. I drilled and filled the two holes with glue/dowels and they are covered by the new tuners plates. Pretty sure they were the HB1 tuners and BT1 extender.

This is an original "Vintage Pro" with the large Wilkinson Tuners, I did add a Hipshot D tuner to it. Glenn @Instagator has done this to several of his Birds as well, yours' appears to have the newer smaller tuners.

I know there are many fans of them from our youth. We’ll see how it goes. Could be fun. At least I hope so.

My first concert was Alice Cooper in 1973 for Billion Dollar Babies - Yeah, it didn't affect me at all :woot:
