Appreciate the offer Dave. But I’ll take the heat. If it plays like the the ‘77 I got from @Bulltrout, a few nights on the couch won’t kill me. The build guality and necks on the late seventies reissues are worth it, even with the repaired neck. I’m a Gibson fanboy through and through. I love my BaCHs with the almost comparable necks, but nothing matches a skinny neck Gibson, IMO.

Well, it sure is pretty, not that I’m Into blue, but it’s undeniably a nice looking ‘bird! I really like the conversion to the two point. Since I have to get my Greco completely re-finished, I decided to convert it to a two point.

You’re not a Dodger fan. I bleed blue. I used to be equally fanatic about the Chargers who were also blue. But the league let them move to L.A. Haven’t watched an NFL game since. And probably never will again. My boyhood teams.

The Res-O-Lites arrived and are installed.
The remaining extra screw holes will be filled by tiny black screws when I find them.
Alleviated the neck dive quite a bit.
I really like the smaller cloverleaf.
The tuners operate much smoother.
The straight shafts are my preferred style too.

I made an offer commensurate with the neck repair and pickup swap. So we’ll see. I love my ‘77. Nice low action. Amazing neck. The pickup swap is acceptable. But darn. Sidewinders are under appreciated. And have amazing tone. I don’t get why so many ditched them. But a set of Thunbucker Ranch pickups redeems the ask. I do not have a Thunderbird with those pickups. And the claw and two-point is an acceptable mod as well. Although I would be just as happy with the three point.

You are correct. That Thunderbird has my name on it. We’ll see if it chooses me.

I'm not to the painting part yet, but my wife out of the blue said she didn't think the gold hardware would look good on Pelham Blue. said something about two warm colors (some kind of decorating something or other she likely read). Now I'm nervous. This is an ai image I asked for. The gold is a little dark, but I'm concerned--and have the pickups in gold. Should I change my mind? Should I go white instead or stay the course? The pickguard is parchment, not bright white as here.

Drummer friend sent this. He had a friend who saw them recently in Philly, but don't think she took this. This kind of think is just wrong. Does this dude not know how to operate he DVR? Life is about priorities. Even if I didn't care for a band I was be more interested in that.

I’m curious about the recipe but more curious why you have a recipe for roast beer cans.

I don’t get it. I’ve set up all my basses myself. It’s simple. But it takes time and trial and error to get it right for me. Patience is the key. Tweak and adjust over days.

Some people propagate the idea that you need a luthier to do your setup. Or at least whoever plays one at your favorite better music store.
