I had a groupie once too. Her name was Susan. I was pretty oblivious. And she was hot. Found out too late; she moved with her family after junior year. I still wonder what happened to her.

He’s certainly within shouting distance of Hollister. I’m hoping to catch one of his gigs this summer. I know he plays wineries in Lodi (I worked for a firm there when I was in law school). I may just pop on up to one this summer. Thunderbird through a Mesa rig. Doesn’t get much better than that.

First gig with my blackbird, love it. Sounds fantastic, plenty of bass and definition, its a rock beast. The sound guy told me it was many time he didnt listened a bass so nice and hard at the same time.

I made an offer commensurate with the neck repair and pickup swap. So we’ll see. I love my ‘77. Nice low action. Amazing neck. The pickup swap is acceptable. But darn. Sidewinders are under appreciated. And have amazing tone. I don’t get why so many ditched them. But a set of Thunbucker Ranch pickups redeems the ask. I do not have a Thunderbird with those pickups. And the claw and two-point is an acceptable mod as well. Although I would be just as happy with the three point.
You are correct. That Thunderbird has my name on it. We’ll see if it chooses me.
It has not been for lack of trying. It’s an on and off again quest. I have auditioned at least six. Just never felt right.
I really like my Epi version. A Gibson Blackbird is near the top of my wish list.

Welcome back to earth. Yes, it is amazing. Maybe one of the most recognizable tunes ever. Search his vids on YouTube. There is so much greatness there. And if it were not for him, few of us would know Tal. He is so missed.
I'm not to the painting part yet, but my wife out of the blue said she didn't think the gold hardware would look good on Pelham Blue. said something about two warm colors (some kind of decorating something or other she likely read). Now I'm nervous. This is an ai image I asked for. The gold is a little dark, but I'm concerned--and have the pickups in gold. Should I change my mind? Should I go white instead or stay the course? The pickguard is parchment, not bright white as here.

On another note. I received my 2014 Cherry ‘bird today. I was comparing the photos of the 2012 that I had first tried to get, where the guy missed my counteroffer, which he later said he would accept, but by then I had already paid for the 2014. The 2012 looks significantly darker cherry in the pics compared to the pic of the (now mine) 2014.
No matter, although I much would have preferred the darker cherry 2012, I got this one for $400 less than the 2012 would have cost me after tax shipping etc.
How anyone can consider this thing as have a good setup is beyond me. I swear, some of these basses I end up with that I get online (reverb, eBay, etc.) are such terrible players out of the box, it’s no wonder people decide to sell them. No a big deal, this one is getting a chrome 3-point, chrome Hipshots, a black pg and a set of chrome Gibson re-issues (and chrome rings) that I bought recently that came from a 2021 NR (which is the closest I’ll ever get to owning an NR). So that re-assembly will involve getting it set up to my liking.
