The number of college/music school people that I have played with who insisted that an electronic tuner was a “crutch “……

Yet when pitted against a tuner are not nearly as close as their egos would have them believe….

My 2015 has a rosewood board. I have not noticed a different shape from the 2001 or 1991.

hey, don't quote me...I'm a "what's a tuner?" kinda guy......

It is a bass. You tune it once a month whether it needs it or not.

He can do it all by ear, I've witnessed it.

I tuned by ear for years with guitar. But this way is quicker and easier for mid-set tuning (temp changes, brutal playing with newer strings, etc.)

but it takes me less than a second to tune an off string by ear mid song, can't do that with a tuner...don't need a Hipshot drop D either....I'm old and cheap...

tuners have come a long way.....

That’s the other thing, years ago a good tuner cost a good bit. Anything I could afford then was dodgy.
