The manual says the Aux only goes to the Line Out and bypasses the preamp and SGT circuits. So, given that and your description it seems to have two separate signals that are blended at the Line Out. The chain is 1) bass and pedals and 2) bass and preamp/SGT where the Aux has its own level control and the preamp has a volume control. Is my understanding correct? If so, can you explain what that does for the sound? Pretend my daughter is correct. :cool:

your understanding is correct....hard to describe what anything will "do" to the sound other than two different ways to bus the signal, one would put all the effects in the main signal chain making one have to back off the actual "level" and parameter controls of the particular effect's individually where the other allows whatever preset (of all the pedals) effect signal to be blended with a dry signal...

Yeah well, I’m lost. I go straight in. Tuner is from tuner out. Except on the SVT which doesn’t have tuner out. I have a Big Muff to add some fuzzy dirt for a few things. But that’s it. I’m too old to learn all this fancy stuff.

Not since the mid eighties. You should have seen her in a poodle skirt in the 50’s tribute. She played with us Cabrillo HS guys. But she actually went to Lompoc High. I guess they didn’t have anybody worthy of playing with her there.

In the 50’s/60’s tribute gig, her vocals on Locomotion, Don’t Let the Sun, and To Sir With Love were absolutely exquisite. She was way more talented than any of us. Our moms were friends in the local art society. So that helped keep her around in our other projects. She continued to sing with us even when she started college.

I was shocked when I heard she married Dan Fogelberg. He was a great writer. Maybe not always my cuppa, but I had his records (yeah, because of a girl, not my eventual wife, but that’s another story) She was such a nice person, original and genuine, I understand why he fell for her. I suspect she’s doing ok these days. It would be fun to reconnect after all these years.

I’ve noticed on my 2014 Gibson that the neck seems to be compound (?) similar to my 2013 Gibson EB. A little thinner front to back on the d/g side than on the e/a side. Also a rosewood, not ebony board. My next newest ‘bird is a 2003, and that and all older ones (2001, 1999, 1997, 1995) have a round neck back with ebony board. I kinda like the slightly different shape. I’ve never heard anyone mention this.

🙄All this tuner talk and where to place the tuner so as not to negatively effect the signal chain really has me confused. I did just as the diagram suggested and plugged a cable into the “thru” jack on the SGT-DI box then clipped my snark tuner to the cable. I get nothing even though the tuner works just fine when clipped to the headstock. 🤪 Must be something wrong with the DI box. ;):cool::roflmao::laugh:

well thought out product, makes both architectures available so that non techie musicians as well as techie audio engineers can benefit....

My tuner is before the amp and my SansAmp VT (after the heads) which I use as my adjustable DI. This way I can mute what goes to my head and FOH. The DI tone doesn't affect my heads (has it's own send/return) which also allows me to adjust the head w/o affecting what's going to FOH.

He's had that a while. I'm glad I got my NR project. It will never be all original, but when finished it will hopefully look and I expect sound amazing--at a fraction of the cost.

Definitely original finish, I've considered it. The market is down, I bet it can be had for a lot less.
