Thunderbird Club

No, she liked the sound of the YT video comparison.
She does like to hear me play. BUT, I don't let her hear real bass plays very much. Keeps the myth alive.
My wife is at every gig, and I’m teaching her Bass and guitar, we are getting a keyboard soon, a doghouse and mandolin.

Is the doghouse where you'll sleep if you keep buying more gear?
Haha, she wants to try one: these are HER ideas: her guitar her bass.

Love that pickguard.
It replaced this one (when it was my bass)
Squier Debut, G&L MFD split coils, tocos volume (500k linear) CTS 250k tone pot smoothing resistors and .047 cap.
Fully shielded.
Brass nut and Fender deluxe himass bridge to counter neck dive.
Strung with EB group 3 flats
8 lbs $280 all in including strings!

Does she care about any of those specs?

Does she care about any of those specs?
TL/DR YES

Actually: she does: in that, while I was building it up, she was asking “why” what does it do? Why is that better ETC.
Spectated the whole process.
Saw, felt, and heard the change.
When she expressed a desire to start playing, we were shopping for a budget purple bass for her to start with. We priced them out, and went hands-on at guitar center, and guitar showcase in San Jose.
For the prices and specs of anything reasonable that she liked, she kept saying this isn’t as nice as that black bass you have.
She asked if I could just build her one, like the one with the orange pickguard.
I said: let’s get a purple pickguard for this one. She said she didn’t want to take one of mine that I put so much work into.

I said: I’ll have to do the work on ANY budget bass.
She said is it too good for me to start on? I said no such thing.
She is very happy. Plunking around as a complete novice.
This is HER little rig:
A Rumble 200 15” cab (20.00 no amp)
And a 20 watt Valeton TAR20 (MINT used 34.00) surprisingly decent.

And she has a line 6 Amplifier 75 with FBV for guitar.

Yeah you could say I’m lucky.
