Thunderbird Club

We drove from Manuel Antonio to Puerto Viejo and had a fantastic time. Also other places in the area. I'd go check it out for yourself and not go on reputation or stats. I can't wait to go back. Only downside for me is that all the "good" diving is off the Pacific coast. I didn't find any of it particularly special, but I did find some great nudibranchs, which is often my focus.

My oldest SIL is from Costa Rica. He won’t go to Limon.

RIP Ozzy and RIP bassist Malcolm-Jamal Warner (Theo from the Cosby Show) - he was excellent in The Residents.
Plus I’ve had 2 friends die this week, and it’s only Wednesday morning here. (Both in care, of differing levels).

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friends Geoff.

How does that differ tone wise from your Spyder?
I almost bought one of those years ago.
I've not A/B'd them and pair the Little Bastard with a newish EICH 15 ported cab. The Spyder/B15N w/JBL combo character is "chocolatey"/ warm and rich, bringing a specific tube-y JBL sound/tone. This is partially due to the Spyder having a two tube pre and of course the vintage JBL speaker. The Little Bastard is all tube and 30watts with simpler controls. There are some overlaps, but the Spyder has Volume & Gain, whereas the LB has only Volume. So the LB w/EICH 15 cab in comparison is very neutral. It has a nice tube sound but the EICH (cab/speaker) doesn't have an overpowering 'character'. The EICH has an adjustable tweeter which is different from the B15N. (both are ported) I've yet to record using the LB/EICH but I suspect it would be a perfect rig for clean recording. TSC will be recording four original songs before the year is up and I'll be bringing it that day.

In summery, I feel the LB on my B15N cab would probably sound similar to the cab with its '76 Porta-Flex head. Eventually I'll do an A/B on them.

I love Pt. Angeles, wish we could have come here as part of the GTG. That’s the ferry from Victoria BC, Vancouver Island in the distance

Very sorry to hear about your friends, Geoff. One is bad enough.
Thanks Donnie.
One I’ve know since I was about 5 years old. He was nearly 3 years older but our Mums were friendly, and we went to the same schools and Church growing up, and my sister married one of his brothers. So not super close but saw him often until the last few years. Hereditary early onset Alzheimers, what a terrible disease. He would have turned 66 this Friday.

The other was a work colleague for 20 years (approx). Great lady, always great fun, full of life and laughter. She loved all the same 60s 70s 80s Aussie bands and supported the (once) Mighty St George Dragons. We always would have a chat, and often part of a group of us that would go for a pub lunch and a quiet drink. She was a bit older, and her husband had passed maybe ten years ago from cancer, which hit her hard.

Don't show those pics here. Some are known to eat things right out of the water!

Beautiful creatures.

Limon is the drug running capital of Costa Rica. About the most unsafe place in the country. Never made it there as the road from San Jose to Limon is frequently washed out.
used to visit the Del Monte facilities in Puerto Limon when doing a container tracking project about 15 years ago, it wasn't that bad...San Jose felt more unsafe...
