Thunderbird Club

So I was at the coffee shop this past Sunday when all of a sudden Dee Murray came to mind-

Came up with some great comping for Elton John back in his Seventies heyday-

So this one isn't so accurate as it is the studio recording with clips of artists- Dee can be seen singing backup vocals on the far right on occaion- but it's him on the studio recording-

And on this one- he plays the closest thing to a human groan of pain and lament in a two note glissando after "The prima donna you really should have been there, perched like a queen in her electric chair" line - pure brilliance-

Sadly, Dee passed away in the early-90's at the age of 45. Hope you found peace bro-

Yes! What an awesome player......Nigel Olsson's gotta be the coolest drummer..

Remember seeing it for the first time.
GTG #1 in Hollister.

Granted, this was at your hotel.
No cold fried chicken needed.

That was a kind of funky hotel in Capitola, the night before, we went to this restaurant that had this strange little cable car that you had to ride downhill to get to - no fried chicken on the menu - it was SO California :)

I spent a bit of time with it today going through tunes from my old heavy band.
The pickups sound pretty good! They didn’t strike me as lower volume, but I’ll see how they fare against the other basses. The neck pickup was way down low. I brought it up to a normal level.
I’ve been using my 4 on the floor pedal as a boost to bring my “quieter” basses up to the level of the louder ones.
I think I’m going to get a
TC spark for that purpose.
What's a '4 on the floor' pedal do? A boost? And what does a TC spark do differently?

totally, great food as well.... now curious as to what @TBird1958 the Queen means by so"California ".....
I love places like that, and I'm originally from the bulls-eye center of the US. I also love architecture and I can imagine sitting in that space, how it sounds, how it smells, how it carries sun-light. It reminds me of spaces 'out west' that I visited as a young kid on family vacation in the '60s.

Was the house on the cliff a Frank Lloyd Wright? Oh and I remember the hilarious art auction scene and the scene at the police station. "How much did you drink?" and the priceless response-
