Thanks Jeff! We wrote about 20 songs with that band circa Y2K. It seems a shame to let it all fade away, so I'm planning to record a bunch and put them out there.
The drummer and singer are on board, but the guitarist has bad arthritis in his hands.
I'll track as much guitar as I can and bring in a few guest stars.

My first thought- after hearing about the notorious neck dive on Warwick Thumb NT's, I bought the Levy 4.5 inch wide strap which precludes the pivot/slippage that allows the neck to dive- Still I give the guy kudos for the humorous title- and his other vids on fixing up budget basses on a budget are pretty cool-

I'm in the G&L loop so heard about this the day it hit - sucks

this makes me sad...

"...though recent photos show what appears to be Leo’s original filing cabinet discarded in a dumpster behind the G&L facility, alongside other pieces of his old office furniture."

Which I thought was a good thing.
Even better was any string i ever tried on that bass sounded great.
Those pick ups added no color what so ever, very even sounding, tight and punchy.

Lace Alumitones are similar. They are odd pickups and a rabbit hole i went down for a bit. They are in the fretless, which seems appropriate.

If you can prove it’s a gift/your own personal property, you might get away with bringing it back home.

I had my 3 basses with me when I came back from Germany.
They tried to stop me to inspect everything.
I had no customs forms filled out to claim anything.
It’s a long story how I clowned them at Newark.
But it worked.

When I brought the Fakenbacker home from Canada, I told the customs guy about it. He wanted to know if I had just bought or not. Since I had paid for it several weeks earlier, I told him it had been mine for a bit. He looked relieved and sent me along. I guess he didn't feel like doing paperwork.

Too bad. I suppose if they put out word they were disposing of things they were worried too many people would have shown up and fought over it. Or they just didn’t care.

So they get his name and “IP?” What other than pre-amp and pickup design would there be? Sounds like the brand will just go away like most of the other Fender acquisitions over the years
