Thunderbird Club

Got better results with the '66 NR last night. Used the La Bella LTFs and also lowered the bridge pup a good bit and at times rolled it's vol back from 10 to 9. Lowering it seemed to help more than just backing the vol off, but may tinker more with that. I used the Ampeg at first and the ABM for a couple songs and even that sounded much better--bitter and more full with punch. Even with the La Bella's I'm noticing a what seems to be some sterile highs for lack of a better description. Maybe the pups are lacking some low mids and the upper freqs are just more noticeable. (Likely ideal for someone wanting an aggressive tone.) Will try a few more strings because I'm OCD about what I hear, but was really happy with the how things have gone in a better direction.

Ergos on the 60s are killer. Moving to #1 in comfort? Seeming like it. "Someone" should make a reissue of the 60s NR.
I see a BaCH in your future.....

IDK, but if they feel like a 60 NR, I'm open to the possibility.
Leon would be proud.
L/R: ‘21 Gibson NR, ‘13 Gibson NR, ‘10 BaCH NR, ‘10 BaCH NR. Both BaCHs are second run or later. The first run were supposedly not as thin?

The last BaCH I saw listed for sale was a red one in Italy with around a $1900 ask. It had Gotoh tuners and an “Orville” pickup.

I like the thinness and more rounded edges of those.

LOL...Leon would shake his head is more like it....the AND in the 1 AND 2 HAS to bounce....if not, dog doo doo (as in clip..:rollno:)... wish I had more side by side pics.... the IV feels a little heavier but it could be the extra hw (or me)...they come pretty close...the II still feels ever so slightly thinner and more rounded...

Lord, no. My gigworn 67 has dropped in value enuff awready.

Had a box arrive at home while I was out. It looks like I’ll be having a NUD - probably tomorrow as I’m out all day today as well.
Retirement? Never so busy!

The new U is mahogany top, sides and back. Rosewood fingerboard and has a big silver aluminium disc in the middle and a couple of “ f holes”…

I’ll post a photo when I get to the unboxing.

This is the demo on YT

The II looks like the edges are a bit more rounded, for sure.
