The Karmann Ghia required full replacement of the floor pan halves, and the rockers' heating channels.
But I also had a 70 Bug, and a 73 Superbeetle, a 68 Firebird.
Agreed, the mechanical work is way more fun!

How dyou like the full scale DA plexi bass on the left? i've got one, had it for years now, but have built a new 31" scale neck for it (still under construction, not missing much).

I miss working on cars, I've got my eye on an old Ford Zephyr from late 50's-early 60's, it's in "rough" condition, but if i'm able to acquire it, i've got ideas to bring it back from its slow demise.

Like this?:

I guess I should add that this is a 59 Ford Zephyr. Although they didn’t roll out of Ford Aust assembly (kits from UK) looking exactly like this. They were replaced locally by the Falcon around this time, but with a little overlap.

I'm not quite following your question, but essentially you want that Black (-) Return lead to be independent of the pickup case ground/shield. That allows for the coils of that pickup to be placed in series with the other pickup.
You’re referring to the neck pickup right?
And then the bridge pickup will be red (+) with black and shield together?

Jeez. Eight pages in less than a day.
That's funny! I hadn't thought about what key Dreams is in and had to go look at a set list to see what our guitarist called it - Am.
I'm just happy if I remember how to play that bit after the first chorus:)
