looks painful..do you pluck with the ring finger as well?...Well, I rest my thumb on the "handrest", which is over the front pup.

Awesome! Rock that NR!Well, I posted last weekend about playing an ebony NR Thunderbird at a local store and surprisingly loving it. I slept on it for a week and gathered some funds. Today I went back to see if it still spoke to me, and it did. They matched the Sweetwater blow out pricing, so it went home with me. Just in time to get snowed in the next few days!

not comfortable...Painful?
Did it have a different bridge at some point? Wondering about the extra holes.I currently have her up for sale but maybe will sell something else and keep her forever?

I just purchased it last month from Rivington guitars on Reverb. Kinda pissed they didnt include the strap holes somebody drilled into the body in the photos. Im guessing they were from the same genius who tried to install the other bridge. I listed it back for sale but am tempted on keeping it and selling one of my other basses... Its such a rowdy sounder.Hey that's my bass!
I get wanting an original one for an investment grade one. But 1k? Ugh. I suppose if you can afford the Thunderbird…I guess if you really need it:

NOS = no cracks I’d hope.
That brings this classic to mind:

I have a ‘77. It ain’t going anywhere.I currently have her up for sale but maybe will sell something else and keep her forever?
SIT Powersteels sound good, Dean Markerly (out of business) Blue Steels SS sound even better for my tastes. I may try some La Bella Low Tension flats on it I have just for kicks one day.Anyone here try chromes on a NR? I have a set laying around and wondering what they are like on a NR. I honestly like the stock strings that came with my bass, but just curious what people like.
So, she was tired of being naked so she’s wearing her fig leaves now. I’m having to learn new playing technique.

Acquisitions:
For me, zero.
For my friend Andrew, a 1980 Peavey guitar with case. Nice find!
No price tag, so he was probably for display only.Joe Bonamassa was for sale? Cool.
awesomeness......would have loved to have attended but had to get some stuff done.......looks like WAY more fun than this......Geo and his buddy Andrew came down to SoCal for a visit. George and Carrie hosted us at their place. Outstanding company, great grub, and libations.
Geo generously spent time cleaning up the gluey mess that a previous owner of the $200 Classic Pro I picked up a few months ago made when they used super glue on the inserts and got glue (including their fingerprint) all over it. It turned out great!

And George restored my ‘77 to the original series wiring configuration. It really roars! The difference is amazing.
