Thunderbird Club

Well, I sold a few guitar and bass things I don’t use anymore and ended up with enough in my gear fund to go down the Vintage NR path. Just bought this potential keeper a few hours ago, well below the asking price. Could be a very decent deal (assuming it’s all that they say it is). Should have it in about a week and I’ll know then if it was truly a good buy. If so, it stays, if not it gets returned (the value added in buying from Guitar Center).

Cant tell much with online photos vs in hand, but it appears to be a nice mostly original player grade bass with what looks like a decent headstock repair. Again, it’s GC, so if it’s what they say it is and functionally does what it’s supposed to do it’ll come home with me, if not, it goes straight back to GC and I’m out the $25 shipping fee.
Cool!

A question much poised but haven't seen anything hugely recent... what cases are we loving now? Mine's a Greco...

Ideally I'd love something like an SKB iseries but with well fitted internal foam and the right kind of neck support.
I have several cases, but tend to use this one, even for the '64. It's not a flight case, but works perfect for me carrying the bass. I also have a TDK or something like that. I never pay attention to the label any more. Also nice and has more space--and more play.

Awesome G! Congrats!! More NR love!!! :hyper: :bassist:
For me the NR Love is as strong as the Reverse love. But after getting my Bicentennial I’ve been spoiled, I really doubt I’ll find any vintage Reverse under 10 grand out there that out plays it. So that pretty much drove the NR only search. When GC lists something vintage for a reasonable price it’s time to pick up the phone and call the listing store manager to see what kind of deal they can strike. In this case they came down off their already reasonable asking price to something I couldn’t refuse, especially considering their return policy.

So in about a week I’ll find out if the price I paid was worth it, if not, back she goes.
