The building I work in is the roof in the foreground. The parking lot to the far left, mostly obscured, is where I park the van when I don't ride the motorcycle. I have never been on the roof and probably never will be on the roof. I hate to think what the parking lot would have cost yesterday.
There's bits of confetti all over the place this morning. I just didn't feel like hanging out with 100,000 of my closest friends yesterday. I'm not very productive at home, but there was no way I felt like navigating that mess.
He was know to drive Cadillacs and referred to the 1960 Jazz Bass as the "Cadillac of Fender basses".wonder if Leo drove a Chevy.....

Perfect. Add tabouli and I’m in heaven.

There's a story about him buying a Caddie (convertible?) while on break from doing stuff at the factory, getting shunned by a salesman for not looking like a real Cadillac customer.wonder if Leo drove a Chevy.....

I don't sing so no issues there. Since bass got diverted from my amps into FOH, and the spots do no good for bass, I take one Rumble 100 and position it on a kickback stand just past my pedalboard, facing my face, with just enough volume to hear myself well. I run a mic cable from my board's DI to the snake and a 1/4" from that DI to the Rumble. Problem solved.I've played a few gigs with IEMs with my cover band and it was a joy to hear my bass and singing clearly.
Not that I don't enjoy playing through an amp, but I usually have to keep my stage volume down so we don't overwhelm the vocal monitors. That leads to hand fatigue as I play harder than I should.
The same dynamic happens with my voice - I'm yelling because I can't hear myself and I almost lose my voice.
That's all gorgeous, but only a token Thunderbird?
I suspect that at least one of you or someone you know might be able to help me with this-
The neck on my Warwick 2005 Thumb BO 5 has a seized or maxed out trussrod and my luthier says that there is some warpage-
I'm pretty he will be unwilling to attempting to fix given he's now in his early-70's and a little burned out-
The USA Warwick rep said that if I send pics of the front, back, and a legible serial number, and send a deposit of 150.00, The Warwick factory will schedule and manufacture a brand new neck with the original serial number - for 1200.00 USD. In this there may be the need to make some minor mods to the neck pocket to get a good fit.
But I recently watched a few videos by a luthier, an English expat living in Canada, where he fixes a number of Warwick warped necks for I'm guessing be around 600- 700 USD, He quotes 400 quid for removing the fretboard, liberally injecting it with steam, and replacing the trussrod.
If this guy lived in the US, I would send it to him in a heartbeat- I love his attitude and dedication to the craft- check it out-
The first one he did- an '07 Corvette Standard-
And a Jaxxman FNA- his third to repair at the time-
So, if anyone know someone in the USA willing to do it - let me know-
Felt the need to tack this on- nothing against Canada but I'm concerned with exorbitant import/export duties.
I am going to try to make it up.. Dave, Geo, Chucky, anyone available?May 9th. Bad Lemon opening.
when I asked the young sales guy looked at me as if I was speaking Saturnian.....That's all gorgeous, but only a token Thunderbird?
I imagine your avatar Donald Sutherland's epic response when quoted the price!I just had a fit of laughter at the $1,200 price tag.
I'm sorry, I know this is in the ballpark for quite a few of us. I just can't take it that seriously at first glance.
But I get it. I guess.
That raised the action, right? Also, where did you get the anchor bolts?I made a mahogany block to fit under the bridge and bolted it down. The bass is so stable, I’ve never needed to adjust the string height in 40 years!
