Thunderbird Club

I’m with you, beautiful yes, but I really hate winter and the cold🥶
Just waiting for the day I can launch my boat again.

When my brother lived in Gothenburg for a few years, he bought a boat when he moved there, thinking he could live on it. Apparently they still talk about the crazy American designer who showed up in the resource office in November begging for an employee apartment. Yeah. He’s brilliant. Just no common sense.

Well, the first non-leaking battery I installed caused a god-awful racket I had never heard before with music equipment- sounding akin to a jet engine at idle, leaving me wondering if I had a bad cable or something else amiss with my equipment-

Turns out it was the battery, this rechargeable EBL. Note the malformed negative receptacle compared to the other battery on the right-
Disappointing since I paid a premium for the rechargeable one. I've generally had good results with EBL brand recharge batteries- I might've noticed upon initial charging but this one uses a USB port instead of a terminal contact charger like most other 9V rechargeable batteries-

I tried bending the tines back in place but that Thumb does not like it- but works with the other EBL rechargeable in the middle and the Durnegy Alkaline which are purported not to leak-

Oh well- but now the Thumb sings with the new battery in it-
So here’s the deal. Buy an economy pack of alkalines at Costco. Change every fall daylight savings time with your smoke detector and CO batteries. Then don’t think about it for a year. Take the old ones to your city/county recycling place with old paint, electronics, etc and have a clear conscience (what they do with them is on them, not you).

P.

no ice fishing?
Nope. Never tried, only fishing during the ice free period. I especially enjoy jig fising for perch and pike perch. My winter fishing I do at the store’s fish counter. Pics from last autumn, fishing trip with customers in Pori area

Both of those were from LS second album, released in 1974. And while I love Working, nothing beats Freebird.
Heck, some of the songs I think are masterful and I really love are songs from Nothin' and Gimmie Back that most people have likely never heard. Gimmie was the one "critics" didn't like and the only album that went Gold and didn't make Plat 1 to 3 times. In fact, I think some of their lesser known songs are some of their best. Some were what a good bit of Country music has become and they were doing 50 yrs ago.

I haven't been for years. Loved to fish...or maybe it was drinking while fishing. But that's another story...but never had any interest in cold weather fishing. But the fish do look great.

Speaking of the partly old NR. Friday was exactly a year since I went to Nash and piked it up from J.T.. A fantastic decision. I'm glad I asked and J.T. was willing to sell it. Sounds good, fingers, pick, both pups or neck only.
Used it yesterday after using the '64 last week (same strings). The '64 clearly has more mass and heft and the 916s are brighter and tighter you could say. Not the same as the 60s, but still a great tone. Just not an exact repo if that is what one wants. Otherwise, great pup in their own right.

All the talk about Skynyrd reminded of this cool song which I always thought was from a Southern band because it has that Outlaws feel with it's twin guitar harmony -

Found out they were from Canada which reminded me of Evan Sheeley who toured with them when he was in TKO. And then I found this video of him playing a Thunderbird though footage is sparse-
