Thunderbird Club

We had to help our little girl Clover through the veil last night. Sudden onset of complications from kidney stones. Tried everything within reason but she was born with messed up kidneys. Nearly lost her about 3 years ago but a family friend vet pulled off a hail mary surgery for her. She was right as rain up til last thursday.
Hurting bad over it. She was not quite 11.
Never long enough.
She was last in an overlapping line of furry people to share our lives.
The missus and I are catless for the first time since before we married. Might be so for a while.
Farewell, my morning greeter and naptime buddy.

I am so sorry Buddha. They are a blessing while they share their lives with us.

I haven't been for years. Loved to fish...or maybe it was drinking while fishing. But that's another story...but never had any interest in cold weather fishing. But the fish do look great.

Fishing is the only sport where you can drink early in the morning and not be judged😂

Myself wish to offer my condolences and have to say that after a point I've gone without pets as well- just no longer have room for the pain of loss-

But sometimes nature smiles on me and I'll get the occasional volunteer companion- once a peregrine falcon that used to perch on the mainmast, an egret who adopted my dinghy doc, and this Louisiana Heron that once climbed on deck and peeked into my window as if to say -

"What are you doing in there? Don't you know the fish are out here!"

There was a curious Egret but it never climbed on deck, preferingr the finger piers and my dinghy dock where the better fishing action was-

I had a pet dogfish for about 10 minutes recently. It was about four feet long and swam next to me like a puppy for a long time. It seemed friendly and curious, but who knows what really goes on in the brain of an animal like that.

We never required pay for requests. If they wanted to kick in, great, but our job was to keep the patrons happy, thus keeping the managers happy. And us re-booked.
We weren't doing a 'show' or a concert. We got some pretty lame-ass requests over the years, but if we knew it, we'd play it.
In the 70s, when the band I was in booked a wedding/private party, we'd ask if they had any special requests (i.e., first dance, Anniversary Waltz, whatever). We didn't charge 'extra' for that, but our up front fee was enuff compensation so 'stuff' like that was included.
We have QR codes on a sign, that link to the band FB and Instagram, but we put out a physical jar when we are playing for tips.

Nope. Never tried, only fishing during the ice free period. I especially enjoy jig fising for perch and pike perch. My winter fishing I do at the store’s fish counter. Not to perpetuate stereotypes about Canadians, but I have been ice fishing. I'm not interested in hanging around on a frozen lake at -20c and drinking, so it's been 40+ years since I participated.

Richter are good and Levy's too- check on their optional extra long strap extenders -
Nice, most of the retailers in my area carry Levy's so there's a good convenience factor there too! The ILOVEDUST ones are cool as hell though, I love finding straps that compliment the vibe of my instrument and those fit the bill in this case. My cheap-o customized rattle can no-name pickups thunderbird is quickly becoming a favourite and I need a comfortable strap for it.

It's of satan.

We still have a little in places.
I’m trying to get out of it as it is supposed to get a lot worse tomorrow night. Our access road was closed for several hours today and there were multiple wrecks up here and on I5 today. I decided not to chance it today. Hoping tomorrow early afternoon will be safe for traveling.
