Thunderbird Club

I looked. .047, original AFAIK.
Thanks, I’ll replace my .022 with a .047 paper/oil cap

I’ll take one of each! But that 442 looks killer in that color.

Tuesday II

Still tinkering with my ‘67 II, rolling strings to see how she behaves with different tensions and types. La Bella black tapes sound nice as did the EB Pino flats, trying some Diaddario XLs today. Trying to get a Badbird and Pickguard from Scott right now.

Nice burst on that one, George, it looks quite red, I love it! It looks like your pickup is raised quite a bit, mine is not quite flush with the trim ring.

Thx, that pic was in some pretty bright sun it’s actually more this color…

I do have the pickup up quite high. At the time of the photo I was sanding the pickup opening in the pickguard a bit bigger because it had shrunken around the pup and was preventing the pickup height from being adjusted properly. I’ll probably take it down a bit once I find the best strings for this bird. I just replaced the non original .022 tone cap with an old Soviet .047 paper/oil cap and that made the bass noticeably warmer.

I need to get a shot of it with my only other Tbird II - the ‘77 Greco…

Bryan Ferry released an album of covers (except the final track "Because Your Mine") called Taxi back in 1993. Really cool and playfully quirky at times, it was co-produced with Robin Trower (who would've thought?) who also played on some tracks, notably the cool wah on my favorite, the title track "Taxi". All cover tracks except track 2 feature Nathan East on bass-

I love Ferry's bouncy version of "Rescue Me"- listened to on my Bose sound canceling earbuds while doing fiberglass work for paint prep on the deck of my boat in the summer heat of Gulf Coast Texas. I much preferred them for hearing protection than the Home Depot foam ones-

And the quirkiest of the lot- apropos with it being a Velvet Underground song-

Ok- they've shut the water off for repairs at home and I'm at the coffee shop editing the novel and I've been on break a bit but I gotta share a song I revisited last night after more than a decade-

My favorite from Zappa, particular this live video- with one of the coolest lead guitar breaks I've ever heard- Also love seeing the band members obviously enjoying themselves-

Nice, most of the retailers in my area carry Levy's so there's a good convenience factor there too! The ILOVEDUST ones are cool as hell though, I love finding straps that compliment the vibe of my instrument and those fit the bill in this case. My cheap-o customized rattle can no-name pickups thunderbird is quickly becoming a favourite and I need a comfortable strap for it.
💜 Yeah, I pick a strap for each instrument and it just stays on.

Andy is the only one with any sense. No chance of snow, hurricanes, earthquakes or tornadoes. We won't count the "dry heat" or sand storms.

You're forgetting that he often wakes up to, or walks into the shower only to discover a Scorpion visitor.................

I've lived through the earthquakes here :)
