I'm so sorry to hear that and feel badly for you. Such a beautiful cat she was. Hurting at losing pets is so real that non-pet people and even some pet people don't get it. They are every bit family, and generally less taxing than most family. Many of us are pet people and truly hurt along with you. I'm happy that she likely had a better home and more love than she ever could have imagined.
Went through that a just few years ago with our last dog, and it's still hard to believe. This is the longest I have gone in my life without a pet. But just don't think I can or want to go through the bad parts again. Do I want one? Yes always will.
I was mostly petless from the time I left home at 20 to join Uncle Sam's Misguided Children, until about 30 to 31 when the wife and I were adopted on an evening walk by a lost ragdoll siamaese mix who became Lily, and taught my wife the wonder of cats.

Been one, up to three, sharing our homes ever since. Until yesterday.

Clover was adopted at ~6months just about Christmas a few weeks after we lost Tachyon (at 17) but at the time we still had our big orange floof Hemingway, and he was around for the first several years of Clover's apprenticeship. She's been the solo cat since he had to leave us in late 2020.

Still feeling out the shape of the future.
The missus (who is less sentimental than I, or in different ways) this time is saying "probably, but not right away."
I'm of jumbled feels about it just now. mid-60's I'm less certain about taking another on & being able to honor the compact.

Heck, some of the songs I think are masterful and I really love are songs from Nothin' and Gimmie Back that most people have likely never heard. Gimmie was the one "critics" didn't like and the only album that went Gold and didn't make Plat 1 to 3 times. In fact, I think some of their lesser known songs are some of their best. Some were what a good bit of Country music has become and they were doing 50 yrs ago.
My editor at the Technique thought my positive review of Nothin’ Fancy was crazy. But he ran it. I got to keep the album, of course!

So many choices, what should I do?

I’m trying to get out of it as it is supposed to get a lot worse tomorrow night. Our access road was closed for several hours today and there were multiple wrecks up here and on I5 today. I decided not to chance it today. Hoping tomorrow early afternoon will be safe for traveling.
Andy is the only one with any sense. No chance of snow, hurricanes, earthquakes or tornadoes. We won't count the "dry heat" or sand storms.

not much....we dissected one of those in school...pretty much all medulla....was meaning to send this to you...

That is a period car color. I have been thinking that the replacement for my van when it rusts out will be an old pickup with a topper. I saw a pretty good one that color. It is completely an era color.

We had to help our little girl Clover through the veil last night. Sudden onset of complications from kidney stones. Tried everything within reason but she was born with messed up kidneys. Nearly lost her about 3 years ago but a family friend vet pulled off a hail mary surgery for her. She was right as rain up til last thursday.
Hurting bad over it. She was not quite 11.
Never long enough.
She was last in an overlapping line of furry people to share our lives.
The missus and I are catless for the first time since before we married. Might be so for a while.
Farewell, my morning greeter and naptime buddy.

Sorry for your loss Glen. It's never easy.

None of us are motivated to post on ours as we should.

An invaluable asset to a band would be having someone that loves to post up excessively on social media. Nobody in either of my bands is very interested in doing that. I’d guess it’s a generational thing.

I personally don’t like posting stuff that is wide open to everyone on FB, IG, etc. because, to me, it feels awkward. I’m private and really have none of the “Look at me!!” gene.

Posting in groups, like here, to people I feel comfortable with is about the best I can do.

For us, it's very valuable not just for show promotion, but in meeting other bands and venues to go play at/with. I don't post that often but our singer does, the music scene around here is very active and this gets us "out there" at minimal cost. We did do a little monetary push on the most recent show and it helped a lot.
