It's usually a fatal mistake when I mention I'm an electrician. I see people's eyes light up and oh no here it comes, hey could you.....? There's nothing worse than coming in after Minimum Joe Schmo has been there and having to crawl through a crawl space or attic because he only did what was required not what was best. There should be 6 circuit in the kitchen: Two small appliance, dishwasher, garbage disposal, refrigerator, and exhaust hood/microwave.Too bad you weren’t the one who rewired the place. It was built in ‘79. The kitchen was remolded around ‘05. They added multiple outlets all over the place. Some in the kitchen on GFIs. That trip a lot. When I installed Bear mats, the electrician who came out noted a few things that weren’t quite correct.
Don't know--black looks pretty sweet.
LOL - which one are you?
Truth. It's really scary everywhere. Years (decades) ago when I worked for a commercial general contractor, most off our initial encounter/work for people was to come in and fix the previous "experts" mistakes or were fired. We were not cheap but good at what we did. So much so some repeat clients didn't even take other bids and just gave us the projects because they had no concerns about it being done wrong. You may recall the TV show "Make It Right." A guy named Mike from Canada who made a living off fixing other licensed experts messes. When that came out I thought, that could have been our show years earlier. It's usually a fatal mistake when I mention I'm an electrician. California is one of the most regulated states in the nation and I was floored when I found out about their licensing requirements for electricians. The legislation was not passed until 1999, with general electricians required to be certified by 2006 and residential electricians by 2007. Bloody unreal, barber licensing began in 1905, cosmetology in 1939 and later more regs in 1955. Has getting a haircut or facial ever killed someone you know?
One more note, outside the city limits in my Burrough there are no construction inspections. I'm not sure about inspections in California.
Band name thread.accidental surgeons....
Moving under its own power! But was it rolling or stationary? Moving is 50 bonus points.

It's there, just out of sight! No ponytail?![]()
Doesn't change my observation.April Fools
It's certainly a great one! I like it better than tobacco burst or black, the other standard colors.White is the best Thunderbird color IMO.
I can't say if other counties have inspection requirements when doing work on a house, but the counties where we've owned homes in GA and TX did not. Only the cities had them. Still, I only do basic electrical or plumbing; I know my limits and make sure I know code before I do anything. That wasn't true with the former owners of either house here in TX, or of the builder back in GA.It's usually a fatal mistake when I mention I'm an electrician. Very few know I’m an attorney. I do not readily admit to it.It's usually a fatal mistake when I mention I'm an electrician. I see people's eyes light up and oh no here it comes, hey could you.....? Barbers used to do more than haircuts. Considered surgeons in some places and times.
