Great deal on a green reverse.

Greetings from Newport Beach! A few days in the shed will be very relaxing.

I’m way ahead of both grandfathers. Dad’s father didn’t make it to 60. My Mom’s dad passed at 63. My Dad is 95. And presenting some challenges. So who knows for me.

It has really been the last two years that I’ve become concerned. I still haven’t fully recovered from two full days of hard labor doing fire remediation last week.
Being slower is just normal. As long as you do recover, you're not worried. 👍

This is an excellent deal. Someone here should make the score. They are wonderful NR Thunderbirds!

Oh no! Why were you arrested?
@GonePlaid It's a lawyer trick. Don't answer Mike. Repeat this song often.

So, don't ask me no questions
And I won't tell you no lies
So, don't ask me about my business
And I won't tell you goodbye

I said don't ask no stupid questions and I won't send you away
If you want to talk fishin, well I guess that'll be OK

Green...or faded PB.
These things are going to be hitting new Epi 64 bass prices if this keeps up.

Regarding my vignette, Elsa was right regarding the modern usage of runes- just check out these Amazon listings -

Casting Magic Water Buffalo Bone 25 Piece Elder Futhark Rune Stone Set https://a.co/d/04OFeQZA

Tirmanaz Runes Set, 25Pcs Wooden Viking Rune Stone Set with Guide Book, Velvet Bag, Norse Runas for Beginners,Witchcraft/Divination/Meditation/Spiritual Amazon.com

Runes for Beginners: A Guide to Reading Runes in Divination, Rune Magic, and the Meaning of the Elder Futhark Runes (The Divination Series: Tarot, Runes and More) https://a.co/d/00UVxtwY

Cal was lucky that Elsa didn’t find the Rune Stone set and Spells guide that came with the special edition Valkyrie case candy-

With all that said I would totally commission a custom Warwick Stryker with Runic fret markers, particularly if they were in a calligraphic style-

But only if I sold a few albums-
For what it's worth, I worked in Norway when I was 21. I had a lot of fun with a woman named Ilsa, spelled the German way for some reason. I'm pretty sure she would not have had an inkling about anything runic. I was pretty safe with her, at least in that regard. She didn't have ice blonde hair or piercing blue eyes, either, although I met a girl in a bar who did. That kind of coloration was pretty unusual, even there. There's a little bit of completely irrelevant information for use or discard. Probably discard.

I think anything under $1500/$1600 including tax and shipping is a no brainer. They obviously made a ton of them. I bought mine when they first came out from SW. They were $1799 in ‘21 dollars IIRC. I assumed they would be a limited run. Boy. Was I wrong. While not a faithful 60’s reissue, they’re excellent in their own right. Much better than anything else Gibson has done recently. The pickups alone are worth the price of admission IMO. If the neck and body were thinner and they had a two point, they would have been an even bigger hit.

Agree. That's right at "a steal" level price. And more rounded edges like the originals.

I still say we should form and LLC and take over Gibson's bass division (somehow). I have no doubt it would do better regardless of our lack of experience in the business. I know going up against Fender is a historic up hill climb, but a better stab at it seems possible and untried for any length of time.

If I found a beat up one, I'd consider sanding about 1/4in or more off the back, round the edges and maybe move the neck pup back a bit. Paint it Black or Ivory. Maybe make a II out of it. But I admit I was not having a problem with the DTFs the other day.

Not versed in vintage Japanese guitars, but know of the Marvel basses. Somewhat sought after - "gold foil" is the buzz-word. A lot of "depends" involved. For me, the main focus on these instruments is the neck. Bowed, twisted, broken tr... all FIDO. If the neck is good/playable (no issues) then the next thing is 'all original parts'. One of those cream Teisco knobs sell for $$ and bridge covers are rare. So the bottom line is, as always - cost.
