Thunderbird Club

I am remembering boat-anchor all-tube "portable" color TVs with a single one-hand handle on top. Weighed a metric ton and the size of a respectable ottoman.

But portable. Because handle.
Give me a break. They were portable! Y’all were just too cheap to buy the optional construction crane to move it. You know, like a portable classroom needs.

And speaking of Frank...his new Firebird?

It arrived yesterday, it's simply beautiful! I will try to get some shots later today, we're going to have nice weather for some pics here.

I don't either. I do not consider it a 'failing'. I'm not a fan of white for a bass. That leaves more for those who are.
I like the bright white Epi used on the CP, especially with black hardware. I’m not big on off whites, whites that yellow, etc. on basses or other guitars.

Like this bright white?

Something like this…

Started out as Antigua burst (avacado burst), turned into an old bruised banana. Probably my least favorite aged finish.
"nicotineglo"

Antigua is a contentious finish - I prefer this version, closer to what it looked like new in the '70s -

I thought I wouldn't like a white bass that had yellow'd, then I owned one - love mine. The bright white that Epiphone used on the original VP was too garish and startling for me, thus the wrap job.
