I think it looks pretty great as is.
I do too, but my luthier friend who did the laser etching really wants to have another go, and he’s offered to do a finger jointed exotic hardwood shell too. At the very least I think it still needs some nice corners on the top.

As a thoroughly shallow person, I am looking forward to seeing the final fine furniture cabinet. The only thing better would be sparkly stuff somewhere like a control panel or something. The more tasteless the better up to a point. Nobody has ever reached that point.

If you check out the first post in the build thread I linked there’s a pretty blingtastic blue front panel that was too flawed to use, but we are planning on revisiting that. My buddy Marco has also done some very over the top sparkly finishes, and we’ve discussed Luminlay inlays, fiber optics, back lit plexi, etc. He’s got a huge stash of myrtlewood too. FWIW, here’s a bass he just sent out:
