No, the Gibson SG I have is a short scale and has the three point bridge. You're thinking of the 2013/14 Gibson EB bass which was full scale and does have the Babicz bridge. I have one of those also and it really smokes! The EB is a FSO that just kills every Fender I own, comes complete with a tort guard! No doubt it's an awesome combo! I can't say anything bad about it. It's just that this 'bird has such rich dark tone, it's begin' for some tube warmth. Replacing the amp isn't on the table. I just wanna find a li'l tube unit to put in front of it. Stompbox, half rack, whatever.
The GC near me has the 2x12 combo your talking about + the 2x12 to go with it. If memory serves, they're askin' $700.00 for it.
You mentioned you have and SG bass. Is it that one with the Babicz on it?
Does this one count? Not everyone loves her like I do but I built a semi hollow Fenderbird jazz bass.

Don't think I ever posted my '64 IV. I've had it since about 1981 or so. Feels so good. Thunder's so well. Just incredible. It has the PU ring on the bridge PU now. Looks like it's supposed to now.

My '76. This thing weighs a ton. Unlike the '64 which is super light.

Well... I musta been croakin' smack! The local GC has the GK 4x12 cab. Not the combo/2x12 stack. No, the Gibson SG I have is a short scale and has the three point bridge. )It was my second bass build. I was inspiered by the mayones patriot mr but the rest of my basses are all jazz style bodies so I wanted to change it up. I have a friend who loves T-birds so I sketched out a design and loved it.can you tell us how this Semi Hollow 'Bird came about?
Got an old Wurlitzer in storage. Still has the two prong cord and original tubes. It worked the last time it was plugged in. It's my brother's but he ditched it where I keep tools, so I don't think he'd mind if I put it in an envelope and sent it to you. I think it would fit...Can I have the Nord 5D with a Mini-Vent Leslie simulator?
I'm the official diva when playing the upright, because I have a for shiny box signal chain that's necessary to get the upright to sound like itself only louder. Oh, and because I like to be wireless so the cord doesn't get tangled up when I do things that are fun.Nope, not unless I'm playing an acoustic electric bass and that's only because the piezo pickups in those require a bit of massaging to sound the way I like them to sound.

I've linked to it in another post but here's the build lot for it:

So what's the secret signal chain to get that true upright sound? I've tried many things but in the end I just gave up on the upright because I didn't feel I could amp it with any realistic sounding elevated output. I've had the same problem to a lesser degree with my AE Basses and the Kala Uke bass. I can get them to sound good but not like they sound when unplugged.I'm the official diva when playing the upright, because I have a for shiny box signal chain that's necessary to get the upright to sound like itself only louder. There are other options that may do what you want. DI/pedals Sansamp VT, Ampeg SCRDI, Tonehammer, even a Zoom B3 using the various emulators, as a preamp.I'm a pretty realistic dude. On my budget, I ain't expectin' no miracles. I'm not in a pressing situation or anything. If I can find something' cheap that pleases my ear, I'll roll with it. If it does something I don't like, or if it doesn't do what I would like, I'll return it. It don't take long to figger out if it makes ya smile or not!![]()
