The only Australian beer I've tried was Fosters. Based on that... I'm prone to agree with you! I guess it's a good thing you get the real deal imported to you!

Before the craft beer craze... there were a lot of different brands, but pretty much just 2 kinds of U.S. made beer available. One tasted like bread dough with seltzer, and one tasted like dirty pennies with seltzer. From that perspective... I LOVE the craft beers!

Brewed and bottled in Europe. Considering Australians have such a reputation as beer drinkers, you may be surprised to know that Australian beer is horrible.

I've never understood the bad Oz beer thing. At least what is exported here to the US. I've had some nice, extremely reasonably priced Australian wines. Aussie music is among the world's best. Early Bee Gees. The Saints. Paul Kelly. Midnight Oil. Courtney Barnett. And I'm only scratching the surface of great music that I regularly listen to. And as an Acorn and Hulu subscriber, a lot of the TV we watch is from Australia. A few years ago, I couldn't wait for the next season of Sea Patrol to become available. A Place Called Home, Janet King, 500 Words, and many others are favorites of ours. They are much better than most of the dribble we get here. There have to be some good Aussie beers, right?

Yep. Kinda like admitting to liking Frampton. He still puts on a good show.

I'm all in with Frampton. Yeah... his songwriting is frequently froofy & light, but for me... it's all about the guitar playing! Suffice to say, he knows his instrument well.

I was actually looking at a more broad scope. For instance... "I bought this in '73 for $250.00, and now it's worth $6,000.00" kinda thing.

I used to work with a guy that had a beautiful '68 ES-335 that he found at a garage sale. The price on it was $225, but he only had $175 on him... and the guy took it! That was around 1995 or so.

It was pretty much identical to this one:

Yes, I paid $250-including ohsc-in '73 but the neck repairs have prolly knocked the value down to $2500 or less, especially because the serial number was lost-it was 519096.

This is probably the best Cheap Trick song most people have never heard. The Rock N Rule soundtrack was never released, but some songs appeared in various places. This one was on Cheap Trick's box set.

That tune was AWESOME!!! I wanna cover it!

Absolutely. Like Dave Mason. Never a bad show from one of the greatest guitarists of the sixties/seventies still active. I don't know how many times I've seen Frampton. He is always touring. And I've never been to an "off" night. He's playing the OC Fair next Wednesday night with Steve Miller. I'm bumbed I can't make it. TBer BassCliff is also playing there at the same time on a different stage. I feel sorry for Cliff. I'm going to see the Avitt Brothers that Friday at the Greek and the wife draws the line at more than one show in the same week. Oh well...

I was asked, in a bar, by two young ladies, in North East Portland, (sitting quietly by myself, drinking), if i drove a Camaro.
i think it was a dare of some sort.

I replied, no, i drive a Toyota pickup.

Clubmates, I'm aware of a Orville by Gibson at a good price (I think so anyway) - just a bridge too far at the moment.
Would it be considered poor form to ask if the owner would take payments?

I'll be visiting Queenstown soon, which is totally a place 'Roni should take over, seeing as it has her name on the gate.
After that will be Invervegas and you can't go much farther south than that without mounting a full expedition.

Jeez... yeah... I didn't consider the "climate". My apologies to anyone that may have been negatively affected by my remark. I honestly have no other name for the drink. I'mma hafta look into that.

I sound Australian...

Until I visit NZ and then I revert to NZ after a couple of days.
Then I go home and in a couple of days I sound Australian again.

In southern England I have cockney accent (which is the first cousin of Aussie anyway) -- it's not deliberate it just happens.

After years in Scotland, Aussies thought me British, but by now I'm back to full-strength Strine -- every vowel a diphthong and tortured to within an inch...
