Thunderbird Club

Nice. What brewery? My brother in Johnsonville, NY, brews and also has a hop field. A brewery somewhere around the Finger Lakes buys all his hops.

I usually hit the bourbon for that.
West Shore. A small (3bbl.) system. Cool beans for your brother. That's what's been happening, small breweries are increasingly going for a farm -to- pint vibe. Local is in.

I've been GASsing for a Ric. Sweetwater has Jetglo's on sale, for $4!+s-and-giggles I emailed about the price, and gave me a quote that was almost rivalling used price. Debating what to get myself for my birthday.
GAS?.I believe I have everything I need but!, I tried out one of these and could not believe how beautiful it sounded and felt and guess what @theFixer it has a 1.65 nut. I could not believe it when I saw the sticker on the back that said Made In China as the finish is top notch and that cherry color just makes me drool. I really dont need it but I need it or something.

I'd love a 60's EB-3! There's a MINT 62 on reverb right now but a little out of my budget. Saw an Episode at a pawnshop a month ago but the neck was in MAJOR need of truss rod adjustment and the threaded bridge inserts were pulled up quite a bit

Those are very nice basses. It feels super compact after a Bird and the bodies are very resonant. Too bad there's no room for one at mine. You should get one so I can enjoy it vicariously.

I have seen a few guys using these over the last few years and have been surprised at how good they sound. Not sure whether they were Korean or Chinese made.

And they're priced very reasonably.
A great bass for the money.

From an aesthetic point of view I initially thought the neck pickup design was very flawed, just a big chrome box planted on top of a beautiful finish but once I played it I soon realized that once again Gibson's pickups are a fabulous place to rest my thumb. I love how Gibson pickups offer that built in thumb rest.

Yes, they are useful My default is resting on the neck pickup of my TBirds and playing there. If I want more bite I'll head toward the bridge. If I want it rounder I'll head toward the neck.
They are also solidly protected pickups, so you don't need to worry about damaging them by resting on them.

Is it me or does your avatar keep changing colors?
I'd like to think that I'm going to get at least a few more miles out of my cognitive skills.

There was an ebony on sale at my local last year for $AUD250-ish (a display item with a little buckle rash) but him indoors' pained expression put me off.

Priceless!

It's just you mate.

Until a few days ago it was an Epi TBird Pro IV, which was overdue for a change as that bass is now a mongrel TBird II. It was briefly an Epi TBird Vintage Pro and now it's the Cataldo NR41/KB.
