Thunderbird Club

Kat revealed the meaning early on in her postings here in the TBird Club. I don't remember exactly but it had something to do with a character on television that referred to his housewife as "her indoors" or something close to that. I'm not sure if we're to conclude that "him indoors" is a househusband but that's what I recall.
I think the conclusion is that Kat has a wicked sense of humor. Which is why she's the conscience of the Thunderbird club.

As long as we are on the subject of non-Thunderbird Gibson bass guitars we all have, here's the EB-2. I will have it forever

It lived in a gig bag for years without damage, then I got a case that was too short. It lives in a proper case now, not the one in the picture.

Too cool man:cool::cool::cool:

What's up with that neck pup?
It's a Dimarzio One. It was already there when I got the bass back in the early 1980s. It is most definitely not a mudbucker. There's a place for mudbuckers, but that pickup makes the bass sound warm and thumpy and very much like the hollowbody that it is. It's got a lighter, not brighter sound than a mudbucker. I'm trying not to lapse into colors.

Ive seen you phrase this a million times and now I have to ask. Why is it "him indoors"?. Who is "him", does "him" have a name?, does he ever go "outdoors"?.

The phrase was popularised by a program called 'Minder' in the 80s. It was a comedy-drama about small time London crims. The 'boss' - Arfur Daley - referred to his always unseen wife as 'er indoors. Him is the person who refers to me as 'the missus' or 'wor lass'. 'Him' has many names, unfortunately the TB profanity filter will filter them all. I do recall that I did on one occasion address him as 'Bill'. I was out somewhere and said 'can I have the Bill please!' ... and he's been following me around since. Him does go outdoors quite a bit, particularly as he is of the opinion that I shouldn't be allowed out without adult supervision.

"Him inside might even favor tort"?!......:roflmao:. Thats gonna ruffle her feathers Dude!. Gonna cough up a fur ball for sure.

[HHHACK!!!] Mods don't dig tort.

I'll just leave this here, so you can enjoy it vicariously... :D:D:D

Cool.

@kat888 is usually pretty literal, so if there's code or a hidden message there......

Literal? Literally bollox more like. Most everything is for comedic effect.

Guild makes a helluva good acoustic, but I find their electrics to be aesthetically "yucky". I just don't like 'em.:meh:

Not even Guild B-300 series basses?

Nope... not even. If I had the money, I'd buy the factory just to close it down and burn all the inventory. I've not seen one example of an electric guitar or bass with the name "Guild" on the headstock, that I found remotely attractive on any level. I've always loved semi-hollows, but Guild even managed to make those ugly. IMO... Guild electrics are the wart on the arse of the history of electrified musical instruments.

veebass, a Monaro looks like our Monte Carlo

Cool stuff, thanks for sharing

The HQ-HZ was pretty 'inspired' by the 71 ish A body cars. The HQ-X Monaro coupe rear end looks a bit like the GTO.
The HJ facelift model added a nose cone looking like the Chevelle.
The HQ Monaro stripes look like Chevelle SS stripes.
The HX Monaro LE coupe (that veebass showed) has the Pontiac Honeycomb wheel inserts, oh and the whole HQ-HZ 'sports wheels' were stylistically the Pontiac wheels, 5 spoke pressed steel wheels.
