I'm sure that's why Geddy didn't use a double bass on "Red Barchetta". It just didn't fit![]()

Agree big time @theFixer
No, $5 Allparts Flats. Are those Rotosound Steve Harris strings?
Interesting. I didn't know Allparts sold strings. I thought the Rotosound because Steve Harris' signature set has blue silk on one end and red on the other, for his favorite football team, West Ham.No, $5 Allparts Flats.
The phrase was popularised by a program called 'Minder' in the 80s. It was a comedy-drama about small time London crims. The 'boss' - Arfur Daley - referred to his always unseen wife as 'er indoors. Him is the person who refers to me as 'the missus' or 'wor lass'. 'Him' has many names, unfortunately the TB profanity will filter them all. I do recall that I did on one occasion address him as 'Bill'. I was out somewhere and said 'can I have the Bill please!' ... and he's been following me around since. Him does go outdoors quite a bit, particularly as he is of the opinion that I shouldn't be allowed out without adult supervision.
?
Do "black" beauties offer a darker sound?![]()
No. They are just black. They sound like nicely broken in but still lively rounds, as I recall. I may put those on a 'Bird one of these days when it's time for new strings again. Maybe the 2001, since the magic is a little muted these days due to string age and wear. That one isn't a chrome project and never will be. Black beauties would probably sound pretty good on the 2015, too.
I swear man... between TBird, dadagoboi, Nocturnal, GBass, and you... it's amazing to me that there are any good basses left for the rest of us!![]()

I wonder how closely Rotosound matched those colors.Claret and sky blue.

This? The claret ends look close at least.
As a measure of how out-of-the-loop I am on these things, I saw a P with the WHUFC crest a couple of years ago and thought 'that's a bit sh1t - I wonder if they come with Toon crest'.

Is this a rivalry thing? I don’t really understand all the dynamics with this stuff.Yeah - don't need to keep seeing that crest over and over again, thanks all the same.
Awe, noice mate!!!A successful return to the stage after surgery. Last night's set up just before we went on.
A double Bird affair.
Seriously, the EY Chinabuckers in my Gibson sound great at volume. I hope the Epi Vintage Pros come with the same pickups.
