Love him or hate him, you have to admit that Flea has some skill and plays a variety of music...

Now THIS is the schizz:
Consider yourself Rick-rolled.
What are you DOing man? Oh, you're behaving like a twelve year old coz a gang on the interwebz told you to?
You mean he didn't have to do the whole grass skirt and coconut thing? At least he didn't do the D E V I L chant, nobody's gullible enough to do that one.![]()
I most certainly need an appropriate initiation after making a complete arse of myself. Need to be taught a severe lesson.![]()
Finally got to a computer.
I didn't want to post a link to "Legs" because it's not a video I'd watch at work
Forgive me for saying so... but I believe the point of any well meaning initiation, is to see if you're willing to make an arse of yourself for the club. Though I'm not the final word on the matter... I say, "Mission accomplished"!I most certainly need an appropriate initiation after making a complete arse of myself. Need to be taught a severe lesson.![]()
Ha! I was going to suggest this video as a starting point when somebody mentioned not knowing his work! Well played!
And I feel the opposite way about Dave Grohl. He and Jack White are the two musicians that really stick out to me as seeming really artificial and smug. They remind me of politicians, and always seem to be trying to say the "right" thing. Neither have had a musical act I've really loved, but both have made some music I really like. Just something smarmy about those guys.

Yup! I'm with you, Larry. In their earlier days, I blew them off as more trendy corporate noise that existed solely because of Nirvana/Cobain. It wasn't until I caught some of the lyrics and interviews that I decided I needed to listen to them some more. I'm damn glad I did! Dave writes from his heart, and from his experiences. That always makes the best songs. He recognizes how fortunate he is, and appreciates those who helped get him there. He keeps one foot in his roots, and one constantly looking for whatever's next. He's as legit as they come. I'll encourage anyone who hasn't already seen it, to watch his movie "Sound City". There's a lotta great stuff in there, and ya learn a lot about the guyIMO, Dave Grohl is just an amazing human being... so un-contrived and real that it makes me like him for way more than just his music. Over the years, I have heard him being interviewed on Howard Stern and that dude comes across to me as just as normal and real as a person can be. Like, if you ran into him at a coffee shop, he'd be as happy meet you as you'd be to meet him. To hear the real Dave, look up those interviews and give them a listen.
