Tuners=Hipshot small clover.
Pickguard=WD custom from my tracing
Pickups=Thunderbuckers

That looks AWESOME!! Did you have any issues when installing the Hipshot small clover tuners? Where did you get the tone control knobs and bridge?

no issues with the tuners. you need to order them direct from hipshot.

gold knobs were bought at my local GC

I only unboxed it a little while ago, but it seems solidly built, great price, I like the basic look.

It's got pretty accurate tuning. Not really sure what the specs are, but it's far better than the clip on tuner I was using before. Another nice bonus is the small footprint; this pedal can easily sit on my pedal board along with all of my dirt boxes. Very rugged too, I won't hesitate to stomp on this thing.

Overall, a great pedal at a competitive price. Perfect for a guy like me who isn't gigging as much now that he has a day job. Definitely worth considering for a spot on your board.

I've been using the Korg Pitchblack for years now. It's great for everything you mentioned and more. For gigs, it works as a mute, too, which is awesome and handy in a couple of our songs.

The Polytune Mini is certainly smaller, but I feel like the Pitchblack picks up the low bass notes better.

This is an old iteration of my board, but I think you get the picture - compact and handy.

I've been using the new pitchblack rack mount, works great And looks sweet. I have no problem with low notes works better than the DTR 1000. I was in the studio yesterday, it was dead on

Does the Pitch Black allow you to tune to the pitch you want, as opposed to having to figure out how many flats to put in when using alternate tunings? I would expect it would, but I've never used one. That's one thing I absolutely LOVE about the Polytune.

Been using the Pitchblack rack mount as well for about 6 months and it's worth every penny. Had no compaints with my Boss TU-3 other than it's hard to see without having to put my glasses on. With the Pitchblack that problem went away, can tune from anywhere, Drop D quick and easy.

I works pretty much identically to the Polytune. There are two buttons on the Pitchblack that allow you to change the way the steps look when you;re tuning and the other to set alternate tunings as standard. I think it stores up to five or something like that. Never used it. I mostly play in standard tuning.

I didn't even know it did that! I use chromatic tuning, so if I drop to Eb it shows D# like most.

This was posted over on LBO too, and Carlo quickly spotted and noted that the PG had been trimmed back near the Bird logo and pointed out the exposed screw hole too. Sharp eye, I'll keep my 12K thanks.

Ever wonder what a 70s bird sounds like with TI flats? I paly in a soul/classic rock band and wanted to get a more old school tone so I tried the TIs. It sounds great. Like with rounds it cuts through the band like a hot knife through butter. This is an iPhone clip from last week rehearsal, I am behind the lead guitarist on the right so you can't see the bass well, but you can hear it. This is a rock song written by the rhythm guitarist which is why he is singing. Usually the girls do all the singing.
