Oh man Rog, it's been a while, they are a lot fuller sounding then a standard type P p/up, lot more balls.
Kind of a cross between a split and a humbucker, i guess that's why Denalo describes those p/up's as having a bit of a Stingray type tone to them, i never heard that out of the set i had.
But they weren't as mid forward as most Precision pick ups are, much more even across the tonal palate, if all that makes any sense.

Sure. I'm thinking about what to put into a fretless FSO project. The pickguard and body are already cut/routed, so I'm trying to avoid using the G&L "MFD" p'up I've got here.

I have been sneezing for the last three days. And feeling all drug out for a week, just like the last time we got socked in by smoke. I think it's the smoke. But, I'll take it over getting blown to bits any day of any week, just like you.

I don't remember this kind of smoke from wildfires ever before, let alone twice in a summer.

Two totally different sounding p'up's for sure, i really like the MFD, but i think you'll really like the Delano, especially for a fretlless.

I'll take hurricanes over earthquakes anytime, having experienced them both in the US and Asia (as typhoons). At least with 'canes you get a warning, which you can act on or ignore.

Smoke, meh. Had it the early part of the year when there was a drought and forest fires everywhere. Now we're on track for the wettest year ever...and that's BEFORE Irma has her way with us.

I wasn't very found of the quakes when i lived in California. Pretty scary stuff.

IME the longer you live in an earthquake zone the more aware you become of the possibility of 'The Big One'. I left SoCal in '89, missed the Northridge quake of '94. A guy who lived two blocks away from where I did in Santa Monica had his apartment come down around him.

Probably just terminology overlap/transition from that 50's/60's recording industry designation. In the 50's there was "bass" (upright), "tic-tac bass" (Dano Baritone guitar), and "Fender bass"(electric bass), and though the 60's just "Fender bass". Once many more basses/brands were used in recordings and live in the late 60's -70's the old-school term just faded away.
