Same here... There's plenty of them where I live, and they are pretty (but noisy) birds, that are fun to watch.

Same here... There's plenty of them where I live, and they are pretty (but noisy) birds, that are fun to watch.
When I see them, magpies don't usually make many sound, just busy looking for food. And when they are foraging for food, they seem to hop around similar to kangaroos. It's looks quite elegant, but it's also funny to see them jump around.
Seen a lot more robins this year than usual, wrens are popular too, as well as an owl I saw in the countryside in the early morning, we also have a few crows living around our neighbourhood, as well as a couple of hedgehogs (which are becoming extensively rare in the U.K.) and quite a few squirrels getting nuts from trees in the church's graveyard near my house. It's been good for nature watching this year, I love it.

Hedgehogs are pretty rare in these parts too, and protected species here as well - Did however see one a couple of weeks ago just outside my frontdoor. Had to get it out on the lawn, so it wouldn't get run over.
Squirrels are common as well, and we used to have foxes running in the backyard at night - But that was many years ago. Nowadays it's mostly birds like Magpies, Pidgeons, Hooded Crows, different sparrow species and Great Tit's (funny name) looking for berries in a small tree just outside the window - To great amusement for our cats...
Used to see foxes all the time, casual as you like, walking past me where I lived on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh -- they would be whistling a jaunty tune and looking for chips.
I've seen a bunch of different Hummingbird's, an amazing looking Cardinal, Woodpeckers, probably a Crow or two, Hawks and Turkey Vultures are common when there's something dead nearby. Much more common are Blue Jays, Robins, and Morning Doves. Actual Turkeys too. There's a bunch more that I don't know. (Bird feeders help)
Along with those birds, deer come around from time to time, Coyotes are spotted, and heard, on my road nightly, not usually near my house. Squirrels are VERY common.
Oh and I once saw a person on a horse going down a trail beside my house.
I haven't seen any Foxes or Hedgehogs around... yet.
Everything I mentioned has been seen in my backyard. Moving from the city, or what Jeff would consider "the suburbs", was a pretty interesting change.

We get turkeys out west of the suburbs, coyote, and deer that you have to watch for driving at night (they are notoriously bad drivers).
At our house we have a pair of Cardinals that hang all winter, Blue Jays and Chickadees. And the occasional Otter. Oh- Possums are common, and racoons- had one big as a dog pass the stairs outside one night. He and my wife passed each other on the stairs, turned back to regard each other, then went their way.

To compensate for all the non-bass birds in this thread ;-)
While he did much of the guitar playing as a studio musician for many Yardbird tracks, he was only "the guitarist" for one Yardbird's album from what I remember having read long ago. "Little Games" was the album, I think.

Just posted this, and it replaced the word of the bird (t-i-t-s), to "Boobies", no joke. This was not intentional. I don't know why it did that, don't know if it was my phone or the forum system replacing the word for me. I edited it just after I saw it. Not 'many' tracks, all the best ones were Beck. Little Games, yeah, and he did the last tours. As I've mentioned before, I saw him at the Village Theater with them in '67, Dreja the former rhythm git on bass (who replaced Samwell Smith when he decided to produce and give up touring). Page must have just bought a wah wah that day, overplayed the crap out of it. Zep was first called 'The New Yardbirds' before 'Led Zeppelin' became the name.
The Yardbirds were THE band for me pre Who. They've never lost their lustre.
Don't forget that LZ also went by the name of, "The Knobs" for a bit when the family of Baron Von Zeppelin were making a stink about the name. "Led Zeppelin."
