On a related note, I'll also be blacking out the rosewood fretboard with some of the Stewmac India ink fretboard dye. The light color rosewood board looks odd with the blacked out Goth. We'll see if their stuff works good or just makes a sticky blue mess out of everything.

That should work out fine, I used it and it is really BLACK

@Sartori 'family friendly' is a weird little phrase. Generally, if you want a family, the 'parts' illustrated on your pedal are a requirement ... therefore should be considered family friendly, or perhaps family conducive.

...some of the faithful believe Apple slows down the current Iphones when getting ready to announce a new one. Maybe that's true of their other devices, too.

Just as slow on my nearly new iPad. Can’t test much on my quiet station stop. Birds are canny though — magpies, lorrikeets, crows and currawongs.

I can see it being possible, whether it's on purpose or not, they come out with a new operating system update around that same time that is designed to perform best with the new product coming out. But if you don't update it (I know this from expierence) it slows down, I don't know why. My phone was slow recently and I noticed there was a new update, sped right up after.

But I have no problems on my MacBook, nor my iPhone 5s

iPad is bang up to date. 5S does have an update waiting but I’m oncall atm, therefore the update will keep waiting.

What I said was more of a generalization about it being possible that Apple products slow down around the time a new product gets announced/released. But I haven't had a problem with TalkBass on my Apple devices (besides bad internet... thanks Trudeau)... and I'm REALLY bad about keeping them up to date

I think it’s TB that currently has a problem updating the forum pages - Either that or we’ve reached some kinda limit with this large thread...?

If you're experiencing the same crap as hillerup & I, we've both had good luck by using a different browzer. hillerup likes Chrome, and I just installed FireFox, which is working faster than Safari ever did (and I've always liked Safari). Do with that what you will...

It's not exactly snappy on the copper-connected corporate network either (chrome -- what else would it be?)

...and other, smaller threads are equally sluggish on my IBM sorry Lenovo/Windaes craptop.

Can't go there if you started there and never left. Except, we all left or we wouldn't be here. That's probably enough of that from me.

Changing the subject to another slight hijack, the Basement of Bad Ideas has a bit more sound deadening, and I just picked up a couple more pop filters to use with the Shure 333 ribbons. I'm hoping to record some rehearsals in the next few weeks. Then the files will hang around untouched for a few months, just like every other project around here, but that's another story for another time. Maybe one of the recording projects will actually use a 'Bird instead of the upright one of these days, too.

Good point. Just worried about people reporting me to the mods for an etching on a pedal. I was trying to be literal with the "Big Muff Fuzz" name.

For the record, home and work I’m on all Apple devices and I haven’t had any performance issues with TB.

I'm using an Apple laptop. No issues for me so far. I never look at it on my phone.

Another good reason to darken the Goth board. I intend to keep the side dots but the dye will hopefully at least tone down that in-your-face XII at the 12th.
Now that I think about it, I might just try to dye over the fretboard and only part of the Roman numeral fret mark. Whatcha think about an "XI" at the 12th fret? It would have every bass and guitar player in the audience counting my frets all night to see if it's really the 11th or 12th fret that's marked, also doubles as an odd inside joke Spinal Tap reference that those in the know will get. Might be fun.
