I'm not much into pedals on my basses (my guitars yes, but not so much my basses) but I did tryout the Tech21 chorus and was very impressed by it. Order one from Guitar Center, if you don't like it you've got 30 days to return it for a full refund.

I have an EHX Big Muff Bass Deluxe Pi and a MXR M87 Compresor and I will also mount the footswitch for the GK Fusion 550 that I gig with. I went with the Muff because I can blend the wet and dry signals and use just a little of the wet signal and maintain the "integrity" of the dry signal and it has a good noise gate (that works) as well as a DI and high and low pass filters (which I love)- quite a a pedal actually!
I will also add a bass chorus and that will be about it I think.
What do you guys recommend as a chorus?- I play similar stuff to our Queen.

Welcome to the little boards club! My current board is a Korg Pitchblack Tuner, an MXR M108 10 band EQ, a Fulltone Fatboost FB-3 and a JHS Minibomb Boost - basically 3 "more louderer" pedals of varying degress of colouration.

As for a chorus, I ran a 90's Boss CE-5 Stereo Chorus forever. It's surprisingly thick sounding with a bass as it was designed as a guitar pedal.

I started out with a tuner, two overdrives, a chorus, a phaser, a compressor and custom RAT clone pedal, I'm now down to 3 or 4 pedals on the board, and I use the tuner mostly. I used to use a LOT of pedals. Now I just play. No time for tap dancing when you're playing and singing.

Any suggestion on where I'll be able to buy all these upgrades from one place and get a good price? I noticed that Hipshot is not the best price online but I haven't found the Dbl. Stop Lever option anywhere else.

Ordering from two or three places is an option as long as the savings and the shipping make dollars and sense.

If for the thunderbird: 3/8" tuner posts. 1/2" would be more vintage birds or fender territory.

This is why i only have my MXR M80 d.i.+ pedal. Thinking of getting a guitar chorus pedal cause they sound better than the ones made for bass :D

It's an awesome pedal, and my dad had one years before me when he still had his Gibson blackbird. it was his best signal chain ever: blackbird > m80 > ashdown rig. I've achieved that same tone with my small marshall MB15 combo and precision copy. I was close with my own bird but the m80 sounds way better through a rig rather than a combo. Cause, face it, rigs hit you in the face!!! Soon, i'll have my bird back!!

Well, that was frustrating. My upgrade plan isn't going smoothly. Supertones don't come in nickel, Ultralites don't come in shiny chrome. Even if I wanted black, their black doesn't look like it'll match the shiny black of my existing hardware; it looks sort of matte.

To me, nickel and chrome are not even close. I'm not sure how I want to proceed. I might just get a black d-tuner with a dbl. step lever.

Did you want the smaller sized clover keys from hipshot? And pictures on the net never do justice to the actual in person view.

i'd suggest Gotoh, they make lightweight tuners and they come in chrome. Not many manufacturers do nickel plating unless it's on the "vintage' stuff. But Chrome is the all round standard cause it looks very clean and bright like the rest of the bass (if it's glossed finished :D )

Another option would be to purchase the machines from Hipshot and send the keys to Advanced Plating in TN to be finished in shiny chrome.

That's who does Hipshot's plating, and most of the other US-based OEM plating work.
