You doin' some photoshoppin' or sup'm? That ginormous wah pedal is completely disproportionate to the rest of the entire photo!

That's not even that big for a wah.

I don't know if you're supposed to. Good question. Lol.

Most of my basses have side jacks. I don't turn the bass over to look, I just plug in by feel.

You ought to see the size of a Morley Rotating Wah pedal. It's the size of a Volkswagen and it's chrome. It's one of the most outrageous pedals ever made, but finding a working one is pretty tough. I currently have three of 'em with the intent to build one that works perfectly out of all of 'em. If I can get all three working properly, it's a bonus. They work as a volume pedal until you want them to work as a wah. Then there's another button that turns on the oil can, and it does a completely outrageous warbly echo/chorus/delay kind of thing. Do the wah and the oil can at the same time, and it's something you can't get any other way.

I thought it would sound great with a bowed upright. It sounded awful. Not all great ideas turn out to be good ideas.

I know a dude who restored one of those.

It’s more that they rarely update it, so for most of the shipment’s travels you have no idea where it is.

I know. I got that, then they present a formula that I can't properly discern- either I'm obtuse or it's confusing. The girth around a 4" tube is 13 1/2". There is one box for "Girth" and a letter I next to it, indicating contextual 'information" about the info needed for the "Girth" box. Then, in the paragraphs that appear in the window you open by clicking that letter I, comes the rubbing formula... "Girth" takes on an ambiguous quality.

Also I find the website non-intuitive to use. I'm only 56 years old...

Everything gets converted to a rectangle . A 4" diameter tube is 4x4 . Rectangular girth is 16". They can't sell that 2 1/2" left over from a 4" dia. tube so you have to pay for it. Dig?

Doesn't really matter. When you take it to the post office they'll measure it.

Ok, kind of handy this became a conversation... I need to now print this label (got 'er done), but is it possible (I know I should have this together) to save the completed form, ready to be printed, to a usb key and print it elsewhere?

How do you like the Bird as a 5'er? I'm still going back and forth with what tunings I want my build to be for.

I'm not much of a 5 string player but it is a kick @$$ bass and the B string will knock down walls! It really depends what kinda music you play though.

Yeah I'm not really a 5 string player either, which is why I'm thinking I'll just go BEAD. But then I start convincing myself of all the reasons why I'd need a 5. You know how it is lol.

You could get a Hipshot Drop-D Tuner. Mess up your head real good, lol.

I have one, haven't really used it though. Great idea, and fun to learn tunes with it. We had a backing band for a choreographed dance performance once, did 9 tunes from A Night At The Opera, and the D-Tuner came in handy for "The Prophet". That was fun.

My T-bird is in BEAD. It kills.

5-string necks just aren't comfortable for me. Hence going BEAD. Plus the musical situations I need a low B for are ones when a high G would never get used.

I will stop noticing attractive ladies about 3 years after I die. I have a "look but don't touch" policy because I want to stay alive. My wife would use one of my TBirds to beat me to death if I ever get too foolish. She would probably use my black Hamer because A: its a favorite and B: It;'s the heaviest one I own.

I've shipped at least a dozen basses overseas with USPS and never had a problem, including three to Italy. Once they leave the US it's the receiving country's responsibility to provide tracking. THey do occasionally screw up US tracking but they've never lost one out of over 50 sent.

...and I was able to ring Australia Post and ask what was happening, quoting the USPS number. No problems.
